Logos 6 Indexing Freezing on Windows 7

I have a new laptop on Windows 7 (Intel i5 2.4 GHz, 4 GB ram, 320GB HD), downloaded and installed Logos 6 with no apparent problems. Indexing started automatically and froze up on 98% complete - not once, but twice. This is a fresh new install. Any ideas?

If you need any error logs uploaded to this page, how do I do this and where do I find them?

Any help would be welcome!

Dave, is this any help? These files refer to my initial installation and indexing. I am currently running another index with the diagnostic logging on, but in the meantime, thought that these files might help.

You had a previous error on the Library Index database:

SQLite Error 539: recovered 3 pages from C:\Users\George Gates\AppData\Local\Logos\Data\oqmep3vc.tai\LibraryIndex\LibraryIndex.db-journal

which leads me to conclude you have a database issue. Let current indexing proceed until it freezes or crashes and look at the Indexer Error Log with a text editor. If you see the same message:

exit Logos
delete the folder C:\Users\George Gates\AppData\Local\Logos\Data\oqmep3vc.tai\LibraryIndex
restart Logos
indexing will start

ok Dave, ended up that Logos continued indexing on re-start of my PC and froze at 98%. Indexing did not have to start when I opened Logos, but on PC start up! Wow! Thought you had to open the program to initiate it....

In the end, I paused indexing and uninstalled the program. I feel much better to get Logos 6 off my laptop, whew!! I don't intend re-installing it, either. It's been a pretty bad experience (and a time consuming one), so I give Logos 6 a 'zero out of ten' rating. Doesn't seem to like a fresh new install on a new PC.

I'll stick to buying my books and using them on Biblia.com, and using my Libronix on my old Windows XP PC. Much more reliable!

Thanks, for your help cobber..!!, under different circumstances you might have been more successful.

Dave, just had a thought... I have Logos 4 installation DVD's, is that worth giving it a go, and then installing Logos 6 over that? (https://www.logos.com/install)

Had another go at installing Logos 6 on my PC on 23rd November. Since then, everything seems to be working OK. On 30th November I re-installed Logos 6 on my laptop using the link provided by Mike Binks to wiki logos outlining quick installation onto multiple computers (I used method 2). That's where the problems started with search function crashing and not able to locate the lbxlls book files in resources. However, with the new installation updates just released, the problems now seem to have been solved, and everything is working fine, including the indexing issues I was having originally. So I will proceed with caution over the next couple of weeks and see if things remain stable.

Thanks for letting me know. I, somehow, missed your previous question about installing on top of Logos 4 but I'm glad you persevered with Logos 6.
