Verbum 6 citation problems.

Several times I have noted improper citation results since upgrade. One such example is this:

Roger Hahn, Alex Varughese, and George Lyons, “General Editors’ Preface,” in Luke 9–24: A Commentary in the Wesleyan Tradition, ed. Alex Varughese, Roger Hahn, and George Lyons, New Beacon Bible Commentary (Kansas City, MO: Beacon Hill Press of Kansas City, 2013), 129.

When I should get something like this:

David A. Neale, Luke 9–24: A Commentary in the Wesleyan Tradition, eds. Alex Varughese, Roger Hahn, and George Lyons, New Beacon Bible Commentary. (Kansas City, MO: Beacon Hill Press of Kansas City, 2013).

I have tried changing the settings around but still rather than author time and time again I am getting the wrong information similar to above.

If you are not citing from the "Editor's Preface" but from within the commentary (page 129 lets me suspect so), this looks like a resource issue where the tag closing the Editor's preface is missing.

On the other hand, if you're citing the Editor's Preface, which actually hasn't been written by David Neale but by the series editors, then this sounds right since the new citation attributes it to them and not him. Many threads have asked for correct attribution of parts of a resource.

When I drag a selection of text from page 129 to a bibliography document, I get the erroneous citation that you do as well. It looks like this is a problem with the book that the "General Editor's Preface" article is incorrectly tagged.

It appears to be a book bug. I'll file a case with our book development team to review this.

I'm not sure if it will matter to you or not but the bug was unrelated to either Logos 6 or Verbum. It was at a resource level and would affect the resource in all versions of the application.

I have several resources including this one that quoted fine before, I have noticed more often than not the case is with books with multiple authors. I may have been mistaken with proper quoting here since I could have been confused with the earlier volume. In NIB I cannot get Sirach to quote the author either, only the general editor rather than the author JAMES L. CRENSHAW.

Like the mighty Samson, the person who loses control of his or her passions falls into the hands of the enemy (Judg 15:18), the same expression used here in v. 2.

Thanks for the report Dan. That is also a case of a book bug (I could replicate both on Logos 5). I've made the update to both resources.

The former case had to do with a biblio citation that wasn't closed. The later had to do with closing a biblio citation in the wrong place.

You'll see an updated resource in about about three weeks.
