Mac (Mavericks) ESV Issue?

Hello,
I am wondering if any other Mac Mavericks users are having this issue: Thru investigating i found out most of my hanging involves my use of the ESV bible resource. I have found under "visual filters" with "Bible text only" uncheck it hangs or with it is checked and the "Chapter/Verse Numbers" checked it hangs - it really does not like the "chapter/verse numbers". Also with "Non-Bible text" and "One verse per line" checked there is a visual distortion of the text. NOTE: it does not do this in my other main bibles, NIV84, NKJV, NAS95 - just the ESV.
Thanks

Hi Gregory, my ESV (Logos 6, Mac Mavericks) does not hang and is very responsive. What about searches within the ESV?

Thanks L.A. for the input. I am removing logos and the library/Index (DB) and reinstalling. I will update the post after the reinstall.

I reinstalled and it is still having the same behavior.

Also now that i look comparing the ESV resource with other bible resources the verse # and "non-bible text" is fuzzy compared to the others bibles and the verse # is a little larger and the "non-bible text" is smaller in the ESV then the others - for what it is worth. Thanks again.

I think it has something to do with the fonts used for the non-bible text in the resource. The Faithlife Study Bible also hangs too.

can you compare the font slider of the ESV to another one which is functioning properly? If they are different, change the ESV to match

Hello Alabama, "font slider" what do you? Are you talking about the font size slider - if you are i already tested and it didn't affect the behavior. Thanks

Hello Alabama - do we know what font is used for the ESV "non bible text"? I can change the font in program settings but it is only for the resource text and does not seem to affect the non bible text font type. Same for the Faithlife Study Bible as well.

Did you post logs? See the link in my signature line. It might be helpful for you to rearticulate the problem you are having.

OK. You had mentioned "fuzziness," which is why I suggested this.

Sorry, no. I don't mess around with changing typefaces within Logos. Is this back to the "fuzziness" issue? It seems that you are having separate issues that you are tackling.

Good Morning, I have tried it before and was missing logos.log file. Cann't i just go into a directory or use "console" to get the desired file? Also in the "console" (mavericks log file "console") logos 6 registers several time delay errors under the "messages" as well around the same time i try to open the affected resources. Thanks again for the help.

Alabama i am not by my mac now but when i am i will take screen shots of the text. Do you know what font is used for the "Non-bible text" for the ESV? I am thinking there is a rendering problem regarding the font /or damaged font /or no font/then it has to substitute.

Hi L.A. -
Just to confirm, you are running Logos 6 on Mavericks? I have been running Lion and want to upgrade to Mavericks, as my 2010 MBP won't run Yosemite very well, I've been told. At any rate, I have not downloaded Logos 6 b/c I've heard it is not compatible with Mavericks. But you are running it fine? I'll give it a try.
I do love Logos 6 on my Win 7 machine, and hoping it will run as well on Mavericks.
Thanks,
Chris

Who told you that? I have a 2010 MBP and Yosemite runs very well!

Again, who told you that! Completely wrong! It runs just fine.
Perhaps you misunderstood... there IS an issue about Logos and Yosemite... but it doesn't matter if it is L5 or L6. Some users (including myself) are having difficulties with downloads stalling out... which is particularly troublesome when you purchase a new base package and have the large download.
If you were going to update to Yosemite, make sure you have downloaded Logos first!

HI Alabama,
Oh I'm happy to hear your 2010 MBP runs Yosemite fine! I was seeing lots of references to it hanging a lot with other users (NOT with Logos but just other forums). I'll download my new Logos 6 first and then upgrade to Yosemite.
I love having the work Windows 7 PC and the home Mac sync my Logos studies up seamlessly... it's really a joy to use like that.
thanks again!
Chris

Oh by the way, I see that I was totally wrong. The Logos 6 FAQ states that it needed Mavericks at a minimum. My Macbook has been out of commission for a while, and I forgot what version I had. Just got it back from AppleCare and it is running well. I'll upgrade to Mavericks and enjoy my new Logos 6. Thanks again.

The Esv - Notice the non-bible text and verse #'s.

First off non-bible text and chapter verse numbers - when i remove (for the esv) them it goes much quicker and smoother and does not hang the program.
Does the non-bible text appear different in size and font type for you if your running on mac? Just curious.
Thanks
