Community tag issue

I was going through Spurgeon, C. H. Our Own Hymn Book: A Collection of Psalms and Hymns for Public, Social and Private Worship. London: Passmore & Alabaster, 1883 systematically adding community tags for the authors. There were several issues:

matches that exist as topics but not as persons ... without a way to notify Logos that the person is needed nor so far as I know a way to find and remove my tags when the person is added.
matches to the external resource not the Logos resources with the same problems as above
matches to a pair (Brady and Tate) without the possibility of tagging them separately with the same problems as above
authors with no match period

Before I put significant effort into creating low quality data -- but better than nothing -- I need to know something about how Logos intends to go about improving our options for tagging and if there is any way of notifying Logos of the "missing options" when we run into them. The resource I am using is rather run of the mill as is tagging authors so if this creates a significant percentage of imprecise tags can you imagine how bad I could make it by choosing obscure resources. I wonder if there is a possibility of in the future being able to add additional people places and things that are not present. Is that kind of what you are hoping for?

I think that users adding directly would end up with too many inconsistencies, multiple entries etc. I'd like to see us ask for additions and see them within a week or so ... and being able to ask within the "add a community tag" process not email.

Yes, that would be better and you are right about the inconsistencies and problems with that regard.

The choices for Community Tags come from a combination of Logos data sets and Freebase (which has coverage similar to Wikipedia).

As we add more items to Logos data sets and connect them better to Freebase, old Freebase tags should get upgraded to the equivalent Logos tags.

If the entity you want to tag is not in Wikipedia, I suppose you could try adding it there first, then waiting a while (probably a long time) for it to propagate.

I heard some talk about allowing plain text tags, but I guess that got rejected for now.
