Setting up an inheritance or last will
Hi,
Is there a way, or maybe, as a suggestion, shouldn't there be a way to:
Bequeath my Logos account to somebody when I die? A "last will and testament".
I got to thinking that over the years, I have invested a great amount of money and time to this program. Lots of resources. Well, if all those resources were hard copies, it would be obvious that they would go somewhere. But what happens if I get killed, along with my immediate family, in a car crash today, and nobody knows of my account? That would be a sad thing.
I think it would be a great thing to set something up within Logos to facilitate the transfer of one's account when that time comes.
I'm not sure how this would work.
Any suggestions? Thoughts?
Blessings.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.

How about in our Logos account page?
I presently have a lawyer-prepared will that stipulates what to do with my Logos library. I would prefer to have that option in my Logos account page.

It's interesting I just today put this question to my favorite sales rep., he informed me that if I transfer while I am still living there is a nominal fee to stipulate he quoted $30, but stated he wasn't sure of this. The other alternative he mentioned was a will which transferred ownership without a fee.
I ran this by my sister who is an atty she told me a will is unnecessary and a simple letter stating my intentions would suffice she advised me to find out what the process would be as far as Faithlife would be. In other words how would the heir establish ownership. I will clarify this with my rep or someone in customer service tomorrow. Then I will put it with my important papers in an unlocked fireproof strong box for my son to inherit upon my passing.
Meanwhile, Jesus kept on growing wiser and more mature, and in favor with God and his fellow man.

My best friend knows my logos email, and could guess my password. He has instructions on what to do with it in the event of my passing.
1. remove my credit card.
2. set up a meeting with the dean of students at the local bible college
3. select a student destined for ministry who would most benefit.
4. change my login credentials to reflect the new owners preference.
5. help him install Logos on his computer should he need it.
I had someone else in mind, but I don't think that is going to happen. My best friend knows what I want though, and that will suffice. I know he's going to give preference to handicapped individuals, and I'm ok with that as well. He's handicapped himself.

However for americans that should wish to have a will, but don't. My parents, and my grandmother used Legalzoom.
My grandmother set up a trust about a decade before she passed away.
My parents have something a lot simpler. I don't know my grandmothers costs, but for my parents it was somewhere in the neighborhood of 30$ to have a will that covers all of their wishes drawn up.

The answer to OP is outside of Logos' purview. It is a legal question and not just country-specific, but even state specific. Your best bet would be to consult your attorney (and definitely NOT a Faithlife salesperson). You can also find an online legal document firm that can provide state-specific Will template for you to fill out.
In the will You need to decide to whom the library should be transferred. You can either trust a private person to take care of this (cheapest solution) or a lawyer (I expect this to be very expensive) or perhaps some funeral office (should be cheaper than a lawyer).
(Personally, I don't currently have anyone to whom to give my library.)
