Anyone satisfied with just the 6.0 core upgrade?

Anyone satisfied with just the core upgrade?  Is the feature upgrade from 5.0 to 6.0 really any better?

Please be specific on what you like or if you tried it, returned it, and went back to 5.0 again (say for example because you liked the homepage better) please?

It is beyond my understanding that someone would have experienced that amazing features of Logos 6 and then to have gone back to Logos 5. If anyone is still seriously questioning this I'd recommend watching these YouTube videos - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXkjd_l1xkSQ5fM605M-F5xikKNGBdPvj

Personally I really like inline searching, the Factbook, the Form and Structure of the Psalms and pretty much everything. The more I continue to learn, the more I like it.

Tess and Bruce - any reason to go higher than the Core upgrade?  I mean what does the feature upgrade really improve upon please?
I sorta wish I could upgrade to Chaplain''s Library and get the core upgrade with it to 6.0 but I do not think it works that way.

Of course each person must make this decision for themselves but I appreciate each large and small improvement that Logos makes. Just like I continue to expand the size of my library to improve my overall library quality, I want to learn and use each feature improvement that Logos makes to its software.

I went with the feature crossgrade, and satisfied with it.

The core crossgrade didn't offer much by way of actual enhancements (I would have waited for the free engine for that). I like the inline search capability, factbook,, interactive media, and media collections.

Beyond the feature crossgrade, the only thing offered is additional resources by way of base packages. These are great if you REALLY need some or all of the additional commentaries, etc.

If funds are tight, and you already have an extensive L4 or L5 base package, the logical move up would be the feature crossgrade. That would give you all of the new datasets and refresh (upgrade) the program with the new UI.

I have L6 proper. FWIW, if I was short of funds, I would be fairly happy with the core crossgrade (assuming I had all the features from Logos 5). But if I wasn't short of funds, I definitely think the feature crossgrade is worth the extra.

Of everything that's not in Core, the features I value most are:

    • Online Manuscripts Dataset
    • The interactive media
    • The media collections
    • Maps volume 3 (when it comes out)
    • books.logos.com

I don't use those features everyday, but I am using them every week.

If you don't have all the features of L5, then I think the Feature crossgrade is essential, because that's how to get things like the senses dataset, clause search, reported speech and reverse interlinears, which I consider essential.

After a few days of swithering I went for the Extended Crossgrade. Personally, I was underwhelmed by the extras I would get if I went for an upgraded package. I had Platinum in L4 and haven't been tempted to add another package. I looked at L6 Platinum and L6 Diamond which was what I was "recommended" but decided to go for the Extended Crossgrade since it gives me all the functionality of L6 (once they sort out the bugs) with my existing library.

    What's not to like?

    Every blessing

I really like the Psalms Explorer, am beginning to find Labels really helpful, I also like some of the Interactive Media sets, and am very pleased to have made the jump to L6. For anyone preaching or leading Bible Studies, some of the Bible Book media are really helpful (pre-prepared timelines, outlines, etc where I used to spend quite a bit of time preparing these if I was teaching on a particular book), some of the changes to Reading Plans such as chapter divisions, the Factbook and the Ancient Literature and Cultural Concepts features are again helpful for anyone leading Bible Studies or preaching if you are going to go beyond the superficial and actually do exegetical work as part of your study.
