Logos, please give us an iPad app that works

I am using a new iPad Air2 with 128 memory. When I open the app it tells me “Some books that had been downloaded cannot be found on this device. Would you like to download these books again? I select “cancel” and the device begins to look for something online and I get the spinning wheel of death. The app locks up and is unresponsive. I have tried using the app in airline mode to try to keep it from trying to get online but that did not work.

How about giving us a bare bones app? I do any serious Bible study at my desktop. All I need from my iPad is to serve as a reader and to allow me to access a number of Bible translations side by side.

Also, certainly there must be a better way to look through my library on the iPad without having to scroll through the entire list from the beginning each time. When I search for a title the app changes from “title” to “rank” for some reason.

You may be part of your own problem. Since it is telling you that files it wants are missing. But not having them there and not allowing it to download them it is no real surprise that it is not working properly. I have an iPad 3 with 64 GB and the latest Verbum on it and have no real issues. Although I will say since OS 8 or the latest versions it seems slightly slower than it use to be.

We already do. The mobile app works great... that isnt to say there aren't some issues from time to time... but it does "work"

Normally this happens when you have had a previous installation on a device and are reinstalling the app. Since this is a pretty new device I am wondering if that can be the case for you? How many "devices" do you have listed on your account? https://www.logos.com/account/devices

Also, how many resources do you tend to download? Have you tried to actually download those resources instead of hitting "cancel"?

How about giving us a bare bones app?

Logos has more apps than they know what to do with. If you want a "bare bones" app, why not download the Vyrso app (which is pretty "bare bones")?

That is indeed very annoying. [:s]

Thanks! I had 9 devices listed, some I had disposed of years ago. One was listed three times. I deleted them all and am reinstalling the app on my iPad and iPhone.

As to scrolling, is there a way I can scroll through only the resources I have downloaded?

I find that this happens a lot when updating the resources ... There have been a few of those lately. For some reason, resource downloading is excruciatingly slow, given the size of the files etc. and the speed of my connection. If I forget that i am updating and move out of wifi range then the download stops. I am then plagued with crashes, missing resources, failed resource updates etc. ... I have to keep restarting Logos every few hours, if it has not crashed by then, so as to restart the downloads ... . This process finally stops when the resources have finally found themselves again. This has been known to take 48 hours ... AFAIK there is no download status indicator after a 'missing resource' issue.

having said all that ... The logos app is good ... Not perfect ... But 95% there. The devs have done a good job (IMHO)

<edited to correct my typos ... The devs have sorted the editing from my pad as well 😊 thanks 😀 ... Now if they could only fix my typing finger!)

At the top of the Library enter "local:" (no quote marks). then you will see only your downloaded books.
