Another 1GB download - are old files deleted?

I've got another 1GB download in progress. But I'm wondering if these frequent large downloads are just accumulating on my hard drive, or whether they are replacing old files which are deleted after download and installation. At this rate, if they simply accumulate, I'm going to run out of hard drive space long before I intend to upgrade my laptop.
Does anyone know if older files are deleted or if they simply remain as obsolete occupants of large amounts of hard drive space?
Thanks

The updates replace the older files. Jayson Bradley answered that question in anticipation in his email yesterday announcing in advance the contents of this latest download: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/9485/75355.aspx#75355

I just wanted to give you all a heads up regarding a resource update that is coming this evening.
These periodic updates can be fixes to typos, links, headings or any number of small content or aesthetic fixes. On top of fixes, they may also include additions to some material as well.
If you happened to have all of the resources being updated tonight it would be a 1.71 GB download. Be assured that these updates will replace the current book files that you currently have and not take up additional hard drive room.
As always, if for whatever reason, you would like to opt out of the receiving automatic updates simply turn off Automatic Updates in Tools / Program Settings by turning off Automatically Download Updates.
The items being updated are

Thanks Rosie, that is great.
I had looked in the Logos 4 forum for posts relating to this, but hadn't looked at the general discussion forum where the post you mentioned is found.

I believe Rosie misspoke: it wasn't an email--it was a forum post.

Yes, sorry. I meant the forum post. I included the link to it. I answer and respond to stuff here so much like I do email, that they sometimes feel interchangeable to me.

I am just curious about this. I understand that the old file is replaced by the new file. Now if one has highlights and notes attached to the old file, do those markups stay in the new file or are they gone forever.

Highlights and notes are in separate files from the resources they mark up. You won't lose them when the resources are updated.

One of the VIP's will correct me if I am wrong, but all your markup info is kept in a separate file somewhere in your \users\yourname\appdata\local\logos4\documents\somenumbers\Visual Markup The book file itself is not modified. That is why you can backup all of your markups without having to backup gigabytes of resources to preserve your markups.

See a VIP swooped in even as I typed...There is always one lurking in a nearby telephone booth [:)]
