Sync Error

Anyone know what this means, and how to fix it?
2014-11-19 11:47:25.3178 3 Error StatisticsManager Exception occurred during post statistics to server: System.Net.WebException: The operation has timed out
at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetRequestStream(TransportContext& context)
at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetRequestStream()
at Libronix.DigitalLibrary.Statistics.StatisticsManager.PostToServer()
at Libronix.DigitalLibrary.Statistics.StatisticsManager.PostIfNeeded(Object objState)
I'm getting a sync error on my L6 64bit Desktop, but not on my 32bit desktop.

Can you check if this is still a problem?
There were some problems on Logos servers and it looks as though it might have just been fixed

The error in the log is still there. I've been seeing this in my logs also. Has no effect on operation AFAICT. I'm not sure this is related to the syncing error as I'm not seeing a sync error indicated in Logos. If the sync error hasn't resolved we need to see the full logs.

Hi Graham;
I just got back from Noonday Bible Study, and was only able to write the post before I left. Now that I am back, I checked and still have red exclamation showing. The strange thing is that the issue is only with my 64bit Logos on the desktop, and not with the 32bit Logos on the netbook. This leads me to believe that it is not a Logos infrastructure issue, but an issue on my machine. I will be posting logs.
Thanks

Hi Randy,
I will be sending logs soon.

This looks lik the same error seen in the thread: https://community.logos.com/forums/p/94636/662465.aspx#662465
Try Dave's advice there and see if that clears it up.

Unfortunately, Dave's suggestion did not work for me in this case. I did notice that my recent post has the same title, so it may be appropriate that I resume on that post. What do you think?

No. I would keep it here. Someone else may have to chime in though. The error is the same as that thread, from your Logos.log file:
2014-11-19 14:32:02.1992 19 Error SyncV2Client Sync client errors: 1 upload, 0 download
2014-11-19 14:32:02.2148 19 Error SyncManager Sync client VisualFilterSyncItem error: ClientErrorIt looks like you've recently made a change to one of your visual filters that is causing a failure when trying to sync your local change to the Logos server. Do you know what filter you might have changed recently? If it's one that can easily be recreated, you might try deleting it.

Thanks Randy;
The thing is, I don't recall changing anything today prior to trying Dave's suggestion. I reviewed my visual filters, and 8 of the 13 I can regain through Faithlife. The remaining 5, I can recreate without too much difficulty, so I will delete them all (1 at a time) and see if that changes anything.

Deleting each of the visual filters did not help, but it was worth a try.
The 32bit netbook remains unaffected, so It is most likely something wrong with the 64bit desktop.
Hopefully, others will chime in with a solution.
Thanks

Sorry you deleted all your filters. My next guess would be to delete: F:\Logos5\Documents\q5njbhrw.vgv\Documents\VisualFilter\

That did it, Randy. Thank you. [:D][:D] (ear to ear smile)
I didn't mind so much deleting my visual filters, as I have a backup in case something went drastically wrong. My day to day life is composed of working through issues of all types (computer, network, and otherwise).
For future reference (and I hope that I remember), if I had deleted that folder in the 1st place, would my visual filters still be intact, and would download from the Logos cloud?
Thanks again

Typically, yes. If you are online and have Use Internet set to yes, syncing will occur frequently so you will have a recent "backup" in the cloud that will be restored. If you were offline or had Use Internet set to no and made a number of changes, you would loose any of the unsynced changes you made while offline.
Glad it's working for you now!
