Want to be a small group leader?
Hi everyone,
For those who don't know me, I'm a blogger for the Faithlife blog (over at blog.faithlife.com). If you saw the title of this thread and thought, "Hey, that's me!" I would love to chat with you.
If you already have a small group, Faithlife Groups is a great tool to keep fellowship going between meetings, or when you can't meet. But if you don't already have people you meet with, or if you don't know people you can talk to about starting a Faithlife Group together, what do you do?
Recently on the Faithlife blog, I've been highlighting open, active groups in the hopes that it might stimulate even more conversation, fellowship, and interaction within those groups. A couple of these groups have seen substantial growth since then. One of the key factors here is having an active leadership within the group.
Knowing the strengths of Faithlife Groups, and listening to people ask for more open, active groups, I would love to try an experiment—but to do that, I need your help.
I want to create an online small group that's designed for people who for whatever reason, cannot find a church or small group that works for them. Managing social media and blogging for Faithlife has exposed a need for something like this, and I believe Faithlife Groups is well-suited to meet this need, provided that it has a capable team of people who are willing to lead it.
So what does this have to do with you?
If you are interested in leading a small group, I want to chat with you about this online small group. There is potential here to create a really fun, engaging, and beneficial community, but I need people who are willing to invest some time into leading strangers closer to Christ and each other (and ultimately, people who love people and Jesus).
If you have the wisdom, time, and ability to lead something like this, I have the ability to send people to the group (if we build it, they will come).
If this is at all appealing to you, you can email me at ryan.nelson@logos.com, or reply to this forum.
I have ideas about how this could work, and ways we can work together to pull this off, but if you have ideas as well, I would love to hear them.
This is completely open to feedback, and I would appreciate a constructive conversation.
Ryan
