Fix Factbook

It's been how many weeks since the problem with Factbook was first reported and still no fix. I remember going through these type of things with Biblesoft. Promises were continually made that something would be overcome in a matter of days, the latest one being of course to upgrade from version 5. That was years ago and nothing has changed over there.
I'm hoping they'll seriously get at and do the fix now or simply inform us they'll not be doing that for a while. :-)

Which problem with Factbook are you talking about?

Patience, my friend. While it may take only days to fix a problem, it has to work its way to the head of the line. I'm sure there are other problems on their plate as well.

Sorry about that Graham. If the problem were fixed as quickly as your reply, I wouldn't have posted
It's the one you replied to a ways back. Factbook i.e. (subject = law) / Community Tags / International Standard Bible Encyclopedia.
This is the little critter that seemingly isn't being fixed and if they are working on it, it must be one HUGE snag to fix.
Thanks again for your reply Graham. Always appreciated. :-)

And thank you George for your reply. I think you've hit the nose right on the hammer, or is that hit the hammer on the head.
Working its way to the head of the line is just that. And if that is indeed is the proper answer, then patience is something I'll have to learn.
And me thinking this was the only problem with Logos 6!???!

For those wanting more detail regarding the problem it is reported at https://community.logos.com/forums/t/93283.aspx (and several other places)
In that thread Bradley stated they are working on it, it would need a server-side fix but didn't have an estimate as to when it would be done

What is a "server side fix"?

Whatever a "server side fix" may be, we know there have been problems with the servers. I don't suppose that has anything to do with the matter. [;)]

It is a fix that Faithlife will make on their servers to address the problem - as opposed to it being released in a new version of the Logos software which we install on our machines.

Correct
I was referring to the fact that the server crash probably excludes making other changes such as a fix for Factbook.

I understand now - thanks for the clarification

Ok, thanks for the confusion. A server crash? And is that an ongoing thing? And does that mean the fix I'm crying about regarding Factbook could go on indefinitely, meaning this thing could go on for months before seeing both fixed?

There were significant problems in Faithlife data centres last weekend and the Faithlife team were focused on getting things back to normal.
I think George's point is that while this was going on they were unlikely to be working on the Factbook fox.
It doesnt change the fact that we dont know when this issue is going to be addressed - I would be surprised if the issues last weekend had any material impact, but that is my speculation

Every Friday—the computers join in Muslim prayers. [:|]

Thank you! Thank you very much! So I'll remember that each Friday, the "Servers" go pads up! :-]

Yes, this is still being worked on. (During normal work hours, so there may not be any progress over this American holiday weekend.)

Maybe if one of the programmers gets bored at home, he, she or it will come on down and fix this in a couple hours.
So the tense is present, Bradley. This is not something that *will* be worked on but is presently. That's good to know. Keep us posted, even long after we've realized it's been fixed. :-}
