Help With Personal Book Please

After I built some Personal Books, I deleted three of them.

For some reason, they show in my library, even though I deleted them from the Personal Books tool.

Further, when I edit the information on my PB, they show edited in the tool but not in the library.

Please help. Thanks!

I should add that I already tried by deleting the book, making sure my library was closed, and typed "rebuild personal book index" in the command box. It showed it indexing. I them closed out of Logos and went back in.

Nothing changed.

You need to rebuild the book after changing metadata.

I have the same problem. I presume re-indexing might fix it, but haven't tried yet. I wonder if it happens after uploading a book? My un-disappearing non-existent books had been uploaded.

In the past I've had to delete not just the book entry in the Personal Books tool, but also the built book (the LBSPBB file). You can find the name of the LBSPBB file for a given PB by looking in the info panel for that book, down at the bottom under "Support Info":

Then once you know the filename, you can look for it in your Resources folder (on Windows, that's C:\Users\{yourname}\AppData\Local\Logos5\Data\{random_folder}\ResourceManager\Resources) and delete it (right-click on it and select Delete):

But hiding the book should have the same effect and is easier to do.

Interesting that it removes the book, but only from one computer and it stays in the library. Guess I need to do it on each computer and see what happens then...results soon.

Looks like I have to delete it off each computer individually. It takes a bit for Logos to recognize it is not there. Anyway, Success!

Oddly my last edit didn't "keep."

Seems that Logos is re-downloading my books after I manually deleted them from both computers. This could be interesting, but I have classes to teach tomorrow. So later.

How I delete PB is that I don't. I just re-build it as a DUMMY book.

After deciding that I no longer need a particular PB instead of deleting it I just rebuild it renaming it as Dummy xxx where xxx is the next number in line in my 'Dummy book list' and using a short Dummy.docx file as the text.

Then when I want to build the next real PB I just reuse the last of the Dummy books.

Yes, you will have xxx number of dead files but they should be small. As I only have one computer in use for Logos I have not tested this across different computers.
