This week the New International Dictionary of New Testament Theology and Exegesis comes out, which I am grateful for! It complements the New International Dictionary of Old Testament Theology and Exegesis.
What is interesting is that the OT 5 volume set, which according to Amazon is 5771 pages, is $99.95, and the NT 5 volume set, which according to Amazon is 3552 pages, is $159.95.
The mystery goes deeper though - the OT set came out April 2010 for $159.95 as well, yet is now selling for $99.95.
Might we anticipate a drop to $99.95 then at some point for the NT set? This is quite a premium for the early investors in the resource who make its publication possible. This also completely defrocks the belief that "Prepub pricing is the lowest price you will ever see". Maybe PrePub is no longer the opportunity it is advertised to be?
