Why does book not open to corresponding text?

Hi there.
Logos 4: Pastor's Library
I'm trying to duplicate something I managed to do by accident couple of day ago.
1. On the home page, I type in Jeremiah 29:1-23 in the search bar just below the Logos label. Many resources open.
2. After all the resources have been downloaded and referenced, I click on library and type "sermon". I click on "fresh sermons".
3. A couple of days ago, it went directly to a sermon based on my referenced text. (This is why I know there is a title called "The Future".)
4. When clicking now, it looks as if it opens at the same place every time, but not near to the place it should be.
What have gone wrong or what am I doing wrong? (I'm a newbie but it is as if this book is indexed wrong.)

Hi Deon,
Not sure why it opened to your sermon yesterday, as it isn't clear that the book is organized by Scripture or that it should've worked the 1st time.
In Basic Search, to find your Scripture, I'd search for something like "Jeremiah 29" (including the quotes, so it's interpreted as a phrase rather that two separate search arguments).
When I do that, I find 3 results...
If you want it to open to the same place you left it while you're working on this study, go to your home page, click on Customize (bottom LH corner) & UNcheck load home page at startup. When you start Logos again, it'll start right where you left it. [:)] You can always see the home page afterwards by clicking on the Home button.
Blessings!

Bill, thank you very much for the reply.
What I mean is that as far as I could see, every other book in my library, which is not much, opens exactly at the text/article/whatever if referenced by my initial search.
I noticed the problem about 2 hours ago after I have bought the Outline Bible and Logos index again. Even when I click on the Outline Bible, it goes directly to Jeremiah 29:1-23. From what I could see, it's only "Fresh Sermons"'s compass which is a little out. [:O]
Can I re-index?

Hi Deon,
I do understand... But every other book you mention is organized by Scripture ergo easily indexible by Scripture. You can link them together & they'll scroll together. Fresh Sermons is NOT organized by Scripture. If you link it & attempt to scroll, nothing happens (I tried before posting).
If you'll do the search I mentioned, you'll find 3 widely spaced references to Jeremiah 29. There's LOTS of other material, associated with different scriptures, in between. Here's what I got:
I also hear you that it happened for you at least once that Fresh Sermons did open at the "correct" place. In trying to imagine how that could've happened, let me ask you a few questions.... What makes your sermon "correct" for the software, given that the other sermon is from a different place in Jeremiah 29? Why shouldn't it have opened, since your reference range includes both?
I guess what I'm trying to say is that to me it doesn't look like there's a compass in Fresh Sermons to be out.

I believe the problem is that Fresh Sermons is not indexed by Scripture reference. The information page in that resource says that only surface text and footnotes are searchable and lists nothing about how it is indexed.
I think you got lucky. The first sermon in the book just happens to be on Jeremiah 29:11. When the book opened, because it isn't indexed by scripture reference, it opened to the first sermon. This led you to believe the book was indexed by scripture and it isn't.
To see the indexing and search possibilities in any resource, open it and click on the little circle with the 'i' in it. Look for the section on Indexes and Search Fields.
Edit: Bill got to this before I did. The answer is 'pure luck' to why did it work once that way.

Thanx Bill. Now I click. [:$]
that's the problem when playing around with new software. I only remember the destination and not the route. You are 100% right. I managed to get it right according to your route guide.
Thanx for your patience.
DeonGod bless.

What do you get if you search using the reference rather than a phrase, i.e. <jer 29:11> ?

Hi Peter,
Interestingly, the I get the same 3 results---but with an 8.86 second search, as opposed to a .21 second search using the phrase "Jeremiah 29."
Now I'd LIKE to claim I was "smart" enough to avoid the extra 8.65 seconds. But it was sheer dumb luck.... Even a blind chipmunk finds an acorn once in awhile, just as I found that anomoly....[:$]
To me, that kind of a difference seems like a problem.
