Trying to install new books from cd into library. I opened Logos 4, inserted disc and nothing happens.
I experienced the same thing recently and was able to get the books installed by installing them first in Libronix 1.22. After the books were installed on that previous version, L4alpha automatically loaded the books into L4alpha the next time I opened it.

If you're trying to install Logos4 resources, you might try this as well.
It should attempt to look for resources on the removable media.
Can you explain this step 2 for a non-techy? I just tried to put in a commmentary that I got on CD and I cannot figure out how. Mac, L4, Put it in, and then don't know what to do.
Thanks!
Hi Mark,
If you are electing to get involved in Alpha software you won't be a 'non-techy' for long.
Just another advantage of our programme[;)]
Step 2
Open Finder - open your user- follow the directory tree down to the file and move it to trash.

Before you try the advanced way, you should try the simple way.
Put the disc in your drive, start Logos 4, type "scan optical media" in the command bar (the text box at the top of the window), select the appropriate menu item when it appears, and then restart Logos.
Ok, so I admit I'm not techy, but this is ridiculous! I open my finder, there are the choices of Desktop, my home folder, applications and Documents. I see nothng down any line that resembles or contains Delete/users..... Am I missing something? I got the Mac because it didn't leave me feeling as stupid as Windows....but it's creeping in on me again!
Thanks for the help so far. I also first tried the typing of the scan optical media and nothing happened.
Hi Mark
I am sorry my clarification didn't cut the mustard.
Let me have another go
1. Open finder
2.Select the name with the little house beside it - that would probably be your name (ie click on it)
3. Select the file Library
3 Select the file Preferences
4 Right click on the file com.logos.Logos4Indexer.plist and select 'move to trash'
If you get to this point and cannot find the file com.logos.Logos4Indexer.plist then join the club because I can't find it either :-)
Hope this helps
If you're trying to install Logos4 resources, you might try this as well. Close Logos 4 Delete /Users/<your_user_id>/Library/Preferences/com.logos.Logos4Indexer.plist Insert the CD/DVD Restart Logos 4. It should attempt to look for resources on the removable media.
These are to clarify Tom's instructions above
1) Click on your home folder
2) Click on Library
3) Click on Preferences
4) Look for the file Tom mentions (apparently I don't have it)
Hey, guys, I looked last night and I found that string, but the file was not there either. Then I had this incredible "duh!" moment. I also have parallels and have Logos 4 in the virtual. I installed the resources in the Windows and then opened the Mac version and whammo! There it was! I really don't like the Parallels, but in this case it was helpful.
Now, I know there are those that will wonder what I don't like about the virtual machine. It is a bit sluggish, even after a slow crank up at the start. I prefer the slickness and crispness of the Mac itself. However, I get tired of waiting for the Mac to get up to speed. What I have read lately and seen, though, is it seems that we are not too far away from a fully active version. Any insights into that?
I also have been, as a pastor, asking my church for a new computer - Windows - to run this program native, but I might just hold off, especially since I have discovered the forum.
