The power lookup remains completely empty with no cross references, definitions etc.

Very strange
It works fine for me on Windows 8.1
I believe you are running Logos 6.0a SR3 on Mac OS.
Hopefully someone else on a Mac will be able to check and see whether they get results for this.
The dropdown on the upper left of the power lookup pane needs to be clicked on then select "follow". Not at a computer with Logos or I would give you a screenshot. Post back if you still have questions and I can post one.

Wow...reading this I wonder if I should EVER use an ipad or mac for Logos. I have android and Windows versions now....may wait after reading this.
I don't understand this statement.
My suggestion that it might be a Mac-only issue was incorrect, it was a setting which needed to be set.
And this doesn't relate to the iPad app at all.
