Gen 24 is the longest chapter in Genesis. I had to search this by hand. Is there any way to find how many chapters in the Bible are longer than this chapter by number of verses (or number of words)?
Generic word searches (wildcard) are long and/or difficult and you have to manually collate the number of results for each chapter. A browser web search would be much more productive.
FWIW I constructed a Morph search of all parts of speech in BHW 4.18
<WestMorph ~ x>,<WestMorph ~ v??????+S???E?A?I??V?>,<WestMorph ~ u????+S???E?>,<WestMorph ~ P?+S???E?>,<WestMorph ~ p???+S???E?>,<WestMorph ~ n????+S???E?>,<WestMorph ~ f???+S???>,<WestMorph ~ a???+S???E?> WITHIN {Milestone <Bible Gen>}
and ran it as a Basic Search; which gives results per bible chapter. It confirms Gen 24 as the longest in the book with 1316 words. Lev 13 is longer at 1347, Num 7 has 1373, but Deut 28 has 1429.
EDIT:
One source quotes
but its 'words' aren't Hebrew as BHW has 1329 words in Psalm 119 and it is therefore fourth to Dt 28 with 1429. Jer 51 has 1177 words so isn't as long as Gen 24 (1316). However, Dan 2 has 1150 Heb + 75 Aram (below) = 1225 words.
Aramaic morphology
<AramaicMorphology ~ x>,<AramaicMorphology ~ v??????+S???E?A?I??V?>,<AramaicMorphology ~ u????+S???E?>,<AramaicMorphology ~ P?+S???E?>,<AramaicMorphology ~ p???+S???E?>,<AramaicMorphology ~ n????+S???E?>, <AramaicMorphology ~ f???+S???>, <AramaicMorphology ~ a???+S???E?>
Thanks. Dave, you are amazing!
