Logos 6 Upgrading

Hello,

I currently have Logos 5 silver. I'd like to upgrade to Logos 6 silver, but don't really have the resources at the time. I was thinking I would do the Logos 6 crossgrade initially. Will I have the option later to upgrade to logos 6 silver still if I just crossgrade now? Thanks!

Yes, the cross-grade will put you on L6. You can upgrade to an L6 base package later - and at a slightly greater dynamic pricing discount.

That would work, but also look at the denominational base packages; depending on what you already have, there are some really good deals there. Some of them are in the same range as the Crossgrades but give a lot more resources. For example, I initially got Reformed Starter; after the purchase the Crossgrade was basically discounted by the same amount I paid for it. So, going that route,* I would have ended up getting a lot more books essentially for "free," at least in comparison to the Crossgrade alone.

*What I ended up doing was rather more complicated, but I can say I'm very pleased with Logos's offerings this upgrade round.

Sean - that sounds interesting, but it looks like if I upgrade to Reformed Bronze (which is about same price as Crossgrade), I'd miss out on some key features that I want from L6, such as studying Hebrew Poetry. It looks like you need silver and above for some key features?

You actually have to buy Gold to get all of the Crossgrade features, but you can still work it by buying a lesser package. After you do so, dynamic pricing on the Crossgrade will be lowered some. By how much, I can't say; for me it was very close to the amount I paid for Reformed Starter. I can't guarantee that will be the case for you*; you can try to contact sales and they can help you figure things out. At worst, you can return whatever you get within 30 days for a refund and try again. But in general, since L5, it has been better price-wise to buy the base package first then the crossgrade and not the other way around.

*My own upgrade path went a little differently. I first bought Reformed Starter then was going to buy the Feature Crossgrade, but then I happened to glance at Reformed Gold and was very attracted by what it offered (Berkouwer + everything else for the normal price of Berkouwer + Crossgrade) for the price. I contacted Sales to return Starter, thinking the net price for Gold would be cheaper that way, but found out that in my case, it would actually be more. So I go the best deal going Reformed Starter --> Reformed Gold & eliminated the need for any Crossgrade. But my situation might be unusual based on the resources I already owned (my collection was already really heavy on Reformed theology), so that might not work for everyone.
