I am looking for commentaries on parables and on Romans. does anyone have any suggestions?

One of the most thorough commentaries available on Romans is Douglas Moo's The Epistle to the Romans in the NICNT series - detailed, exegetical, clear, and very helpful.
A second one I would definite recommend is Thomas Schreiner's commentary on Romans, in the BECNT series - also exceptional.
For a slightly less technical one, take a look at John Stott's The Message to the Romans in the BST series.
For the parables, see Craig Blomberg's Interpreting the Parables.

For the parables I suggest Snodgrass' Stories with Intent (Eerdmans) which, unfortunately, is not available in Logos.
++ on this recommendation.
Also, depending on what kind of study you are doing, a great exegetical resource is the handbook from SIL series Semantic and Structural Analysis. Cranfield, C. E. B: Romans 2 vols in ICC (available in Logos format). must consult for detailed exegesis of the text (a knowledge of Greek is required)

I have found Moo's "Encountering the Book of Romans" to be a refreshing read and a good primer during teaching preparation.

thank you everyone for your help! i went with Moo's "Encountering the Book of Romans" and Blomberg's "Interpreting the Parables" and so far I have been pleased with the layout of both although I have not really had a chance to use either much.
