Which Software Do You Use Most When Offline? Faithlife or Logos?

Good morning All,

I'm trying to figure out which software is the most useful in offline mode since much of my study time is spent in offline mode such as on trains. In the recent past I would have said Faithlife hands down but recently the commentary section does not sync with the verses that I go to when offline (Navigation Failed error). So now I'm wondering which one others use and why.

Are you referring to the FSB that is loaded on an Android or IOS device?

For offline use, I always prefer the Logos desktop, as your entire (well, most of) library is on the computer. When using the Android or IOS app, you will only have access to the resources that you specifically download.

I would have been surprised if they handled an offline state any differently - do you have any examples where they do?

Okay, I understand now. Unfortunately, the IOS world has not granted me access yet (I don't own an iPad, iPhone, etc.), so I am unable to personally compare. [:)]

I would think (as Graham has stated) that it would be no difference, as the underlying and controlling system is the Faithlife/Logos network and servers. That said, the remaining is just personal choice and equipment/device type owned. I understand that there are some differences in the UI.

Hmmm ... if we had some 'documentation', we could answer the question. But we don't.

I use Bible!, Biblia, Vyrso, and Noet. The first 2 get as close to Faithlife as you're likely, but not. Essentally you need to be online in the railroad tunnel. Noet on its most recent version crashes on clicking a reference, so I'd say that one's not likely to fill your need.

You're best bet, is just to download Bible! and download a Bible your like, and the Faithlife commentary. See what happens.

Personally would use a MacBook Air or Windows Tablet running Logos 6 offline. My favorite feature of visual filter highlighting is not available on any mobile app.

Note: Windows RT cannot run Logos 6.

I use Logos on a Nexus 7, which runs Android, for study in the subway. It works fine offline for my purposes. I'm using it to study for classes, and I download the text I'm assigned to read at home and it's good to go. Links to Bible verses work fine. Links between other resources don't always seem to work, but that hasn't been a huge problem given what I'm doing. Searches of the resources I have downloaded work fine.
