BUG: Example where Context menu is very slow building

The wait for the context menu on right click was several seconds ... I was adding a simple note and needed to wait until the add to note file appeared ... I tried it 3 times and each time is was very slow

On my system it takes several seconds to populate the space which lists other resources for this topic, but the "Add to note" option appears instantly.

However, despite the wait, it fails to find the topic in any other resources, despite the parallel resource menu proving it exists in three other resources.

It takes a very long while to populate the RHS on my laptop with 6.0a. When the "Popular highlight" entry finally appears so does the LHS menu. My desktop with 6.0b Beta 4 works the same way but takes about 3s to complete!!

Apologies. I hadn't noticed that you'd selected the bulleted list before right-clicking. When I do that I get the same problem.

It's caused by the long Bible ranges in the selected text. (That's a resource error. Deut and Sir should be tagged as separate references, but the hyphen has caused the editor to think it's a range.)

Right-clicking on any long Bible range causes this problem. In this case I suspect it's compounded by Sirach being deuterocanonical, and therefore Deut-Sirach could be an even longer range depending on where Sirach appears in your preferred Bible.

I'm not sure exactly what Logos is doing whilst the context menu is populating. I can see from process monitor that it's repeatedly getting the same data from catalog.db, but why it's doing that I don't know. As it's repeatedly getting the same data, it looks like it could be optimised though.

But we ought to report the ranges as a typo, too.

I can't reproduce this. Make sure the selection item on the right is active (click it if necessary), and "Add a note" should be instantly available on the left, even if the context menu is still working.

Bradley, how long did it take for the entire context menu to appear for you? I've gotten burned so many times on hitting enter while the bar was still building in Logos that I wait for it to quit.

A couple of seconds. (Which isn't ideal, but my point is that you can use the available information immediately while the rest of the menu builds in the background.)

I've gotten burned so many times on hitting enter while the bar was still building in Logos that I wait for it to quit.

I'm not sure what this means.
