Logos 6b RC1 CPU usage

Logos is functioning fine, but I do know that when not in use (see below) it is using cpu in a more than acceptable way. If I keep Logos open for extended time, where my left hand sits on the laptop, it gets very hot. The fan also runs often. I fix it by closing Logos down for 30 minutes or so and restarting.

The interesting thing is that this has occurred after doing a search. It doesn't seem to settle down after a search is done. Mind you, I'm not talking about 12% or anything like that. I restarted it 30 mins ago & have not had the cpu use go up. It seems to only after I search and then it will run hot until shut down. This is only my observation. I don't want to give a bad lead here.

No I haven't seen this

I just tried a search and then nothing else.

The CPU usage was as below

so there was a spike - as one would expect - but it then went back to background levels

Mind you, I'm not talking about 12% or anything like that

What sort of levels are you seeing?

Doing the same test and looking at per-process CPU usage, the Logos application went up to about 20% and then dropped down to 0% and stayed there

Thanks for replying. It was a very hot day today in regional Australia so it might be a false lead that I got. It might be that Logos is just an intense programme on processing power. I'll wait to see what happens on a moderate day. I did, however, have a browser open & Libreoffice and there was no excessive usage of cpu when they were both idol nor of heating up the laptop to the point of feeling heat under my left palm.

It was around 40 degC north of Melbourne and I dare say the humidity was much higher in Echuca, however Logos is normally intensive only when Indexing. Specify the type of search you were doing but a long search for me takes up 17% CPU in Task Manager and drops back to 2% quite quickly.

I've seen something like this on my Win7 32bit installation - which ran the CPU and used up the available RAM until the app crashed out of memory. In my case - which may be totally unrelated, or not - it was the (idle sitting) video tab of a mobile Ed course. You didn't by chance have such as this open, did you?
