BUG? Not Finding μνημονεύω in BDAG

In Hebrews 11:15 I right click on "thinking" in the ESV. I get the menu and click on lemma. BDAG is my first prioritized lexicon yet it is not listed. If I do a morph search and right click on other instances it does show up first in the right click menu.

I am probably doing something wrong or don't understand exactly what is going on. But, maybe it is not tagged right or something.

You're right - I get the same result but the lemma is in BDAG so somehow the headword hasn't been tagged correctly or something. I suggest you change the heading of this post to begin with "BUG:" so that someone from Logos will open it.

I get the same results as you and I have the BDAG as my first priority as well. This does appear to be a tagging/indexing issue with the BDAG as inline search does not find it as well.

I'm not sure how you're using inline search, but it does find it for me. But I don't find inline search a useful way to search dictionaries since it doesn't display the full entry. (EDIT: Ahh..it does display the full entry if I change the menu in the inline search to "Article")

But I do agree there's a tagging issue:

For μνημονεύω, Logos lists BADG, but not BDAG in the right-click menu (I have both). I can switch from BADG to BDAG using the parallel resource menu, and it finds it that way. I can also paste the lemma into BDAG's reference field, and it finds it that way too. So it's only broken for automated look-ups.

Going from the Greek, when I double-click on the word, I do get the BDAG entry. I think there is a problem with the ESV.

Thanks for the verification. I can confirm all the other ways of getting to it. I just wanted to make sure I was not missing something. I tend to use the right-click menu a lot. (Which hasn't been too slow today. Yippie)

Also, there seems to be the epsilon prefix in the greek resources but not in what underlies the ESV. Does anybody know what that is about?

In Greek the imperfect and aorist have an epsilon prefix which distinguishes their past character. The ESV renders it as a pluperfect (which is normally incorrect, however, this is done to produce a contrary to fact condition).

Todd, what is BADG?

BAGD is the acronym that the second edition of the Bauer lexicon was known by. BDAG is the third edition.
