We are looking for ways to encourage our church to join in on a yearly bible reading plan, is there any way that the church could buy copies of a bible and gift it to members who download the faith life or logos app and join our bible reading group on the faith life community?

The Faithlife Study Bible and Lexham English Bible are free... No need to make any purchases. A good thing about the LEB is that you can also get the audiobook for free.

My LEB audiobook seems to be limited to the New Testament; is there a version for the whole Bible?

that's true, but at the same time we are doing this to involve some members who might not necessarily be all in from the very start, so we would want to get them the translation we typically preach from to minimize barriers to getting involved.

I love Logos and I have been accused on more than one occasion of either "drinking the koolaid" or being a "fan boy." Both probably true. If I were you, however, I would look for a free method to accomplish this. My suggestion? YouVersion. You should be able to get whatever translation you need there. Most are downloadable. Since it is a non-profit, they are able to provide access when Logos cannot.

I'll have to check it out, do you know if you version has the community commenting tools that faith life does? can we share comments on the scripture within the group?
