Ok...having a brain fart and cannot find solution. How do I view a genealogy tree in Logos 6? Its driving me mad!
You can find them in factbook now. They are in the first section.
For example typing the command open factbook to reuben will open factbook to said person with his family trees in the first section.
I guess it does not have genealogies for everyone then? Hamor Genesis 34....no family tree. for some reason I was thinking it was exhaustive... even if there is not much info available, it would be helpful if what was available was indicated.
???
I think I inherited the nutty Logos6 (that's the new age one they typically ship to Sedona). I'm learning from my Logos6 software manual, so I typed in 'Reuben' and then selected 'Reuben'. That seemed easy.
That indeed led me to the forest of family trees. It was in this forest, that I suspected I had been sent the new age version.
It showed Reuben ( and his father and son), Abraham (good, check), Asher (huh?, well ok), Benjamen (huh?, well, ok) and Dan (huh?, well, ok)
Of course, the mystery is why the short version of Reuben and the large leafy versions of Asher, Benjamen, Dan, and the big boy Abraham? Was Reuben that bad? Logos software code is indeed pretty smart!
OK, back to my manual.
EDIT: Wow, this Logos6 Software Manual is really good. It warned me that I should not trust the Logos Fact Book (for Reuben). I should INSTEAD go to the new Logos6 resource called 'Biblical People Diagrams'. Then simply find 'Reuben' in the TOC. Heavens to Betsy! There were THREE Reuben trees (2 of them quite leafy too). I guess (?) the Factbook just kind of randomly selects this one and that one?
Plus the resource has a whole series of interesting trees I didn't know about (I'd been using the Logos5 Software Manual).
Well, anyway, I'm thanking my lucky stars I had the Logos6 Software manual.
So...mine does not display that way...which makes me wonder if I have the current version, but no updates are available. However, If I click the "Search Media for 'Hamor'" link, I do get that display...or at least one very similar with the genealogy tree. Wonder what hte deal is...it does the same on any person?
Yep, I got cheated on the map too. I think it has to do with the drop-down ... only 1 choice. I think MJ has the premium Logos6.
It doesn't display all results -- that's why the Search is provided. What a person owns would affect which top items to show. But I don't know how they select among the items you own.
I think MJ has the premium Logos6.
Actually I usually run Verbum. In this particular case, my dropdown also had only 1 choice ... but I usually get more scripture passages 'cause I have premium (more) scripture[:D]
I'd call that 'buggy' but I don't want to offend Sean, so I'll keep quiet (shhhhh ... Reuben? ... not the Factbook).
EDIT: Ok, I played with the Factbook text box some more and got 3 entries in the drop down. Luckily I had the Logos6 Software Manual. Whoo hoo!!
