In response to an offline question about the new NICOT commentary on Psalms, and the NICNT volume on 1 Corinthians. I've decided to experiment!
The Psalms pre-pub discount is around 25% ($47.95 to $36), whereas 1 Corinthians is only 12% ($52 to $45.50).
The bundle discount is around 14% ($1,980.93 to $1699.95), so I've placed a pre-order for Psalms but not 1 Corinthians.
I predict that the new 45 volume set will cost $1749.95, for books retailing at $2,028.98 (a discount of 13.75%). I further predict that my dynamic pricing for the new 1 Corinthians volume will be $44.85. Waiting will save me an enormous 65 cents, but at least I'll be able to see whether my predictions were correct (and you'll probably be able to have a good laugh!).
Mark, your calculation is based on purchasing NIC at Logos' regular price. But this set is offered at substantial discount every year or two. It's currently available for $1099 as part of a base package purchase. If you apply the discount as 1,980.93 to 1099 then the discount is almost 45%.
I plan on waiting for all NIC purchases from now on the assumption that I can pick them up in a future sale with dynamic pricing on top for much cheaper than Pre-Pub.

I have the prepub of 1 Corinthians locked in at $39 which shows the value of locking in early as prepub prices do increase.
I think that the bigger question is whether the new volumes will find their way into base packages, while this is doubtful for NICOT and NICNT it is quite likely for Pillar in which case a base package upgrade may well be better value.
That also means that you don't have it in your library for the next 2 or 3 yrs.
Yeah, I did wonder about waiting, but it's likely to be sometime before the base packages are updated with the Pillar volume, and I'm really keen to see what Fee's done with 1 Corinthians. But waiting will probably be the cheaper option.
I went for Psalms on NICOT since it's one volume and it seems very thorough. I really don't like it when people do 2 or 3 or 4 volume Psalm commentaries just to get money out of it. This one seems to be top scholarship on all 150 psalms all in one volume! Awesome!
Hi BriM, I just thought of something that I wanted to share that might influence your decision with regards to the NICOT/NT series. You may want to verify that a new NICOT/NT title is going to be part over the overall larger collection (and thus eligible for dynamic pricing) before you decide to wait. As I was purchasing my copies title by title, I realized that not every title makes it into the larger collection. (For example the NICOT on Judges.) I would hate for you to miss out on a cheaper pre-pub bid only to discover later it's not part of the bigger collection.
