Alan Palmer, here is a different issue I had alluded to with regard to scrolling. The resource is More Light on the Path.
In this screencast, I keep the scrolling going continually but it halts at different points and for varying degrees of time.
You'll want to take note in particular of the pause at the 19 second mark, where it freezes for 7 seconds and then continues at the 26 second mark. Live, I got the spinning beachball for that duration, but it didn't record the spinning in the screencast.
