When I went ot install the Norman Geisler Apologetics Library from the disk, now my Logos 3 Scholars Silver is dead. I had to go through the Purge.bat process to even get it remove itself so I could reinstall, now when I try from the DVD I received for Logos 3 Scholar Silver, it will not install either my Scholars Silver, now the Geisler disk, nor even my Charles Stanley lifework library. Nothing works now without constantly giving me that same error 1722 something failed to run during the installer process or something such as this. If I can get back to the exact full error message instead of just the code, then I'll post that here too. PLEASE HELP...I HAVE A HUGE AMOUNT OF SEMINARY WORK TO DO!!!

    Raymond,

To take care of the 1722 error that you are getting, follow these steps:

    Solution 1:

First, make sure that your user account has administrative rights on the computer. If it doesn't, the problem might be resolved by installing under an admin account. If you need help with this, please contact your IT department or the person who set up your computer.

If the 1721 or 1722 error occurs when reinstalling Libronix, open My Computer and navigate to C:\Program Files\Libronix DLS. Delete the Common, Inbound, and System folders (leave Resources). Try the installation again. If the error reoccurs, click on the following link for instructions on uninstalling and reinstalling the software: Using the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility to uninstall Libronix.

    Solution 2

If the above steps do not resolve the problem, or an installation has never been attempted on this computer, the Microsoft XML Parser may need to be reregistered or reinstalled.

To register the XML Parser in XP:

    •
      • Click on Start | Run.
      • Type or copy and paste the line below, then click OK:
        regsvr32 msxml4.dll
      • A message should pop up saying "DllRegisterServer in msxml4.dll succeeded." Click OK.
      • Repeat the Libronix installation. (Restart computer first for Windows 98/ME.)

To register the XML Parser in Vista:

    • Click on Start button and click into the Start Search box (click on image below).

    image

    • Type cmd.exe. When cmd.exe (or cmd) appears at the top of the Start Menu under Programs,
right-click on the filename and choose Run as administrator.

If a User Account Control (UAC) window appears asking for permission, click Continue.

    • A command prompt window will open (click on image below).

      image

Type: regsvr32 msxml4.dll and press Enter. (For Vista 64-bit, type: regsvr32  "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\msxml4.dll" and press Enter).
A message should pop up saying "DllRegisterServer in msxml4.dll succeeded." Click OK.
Type Exit at the prompt and press Enter to close the command window.
    Repeat the Libronix installation.

If the error reoccurs, reinstall the XML 4 parser:
    •
      • Click the following link to install the Microsoft XML Core Services Service Pack 2: MSXML4SP2.msi
      • Click on Run (or Open). Follow the steps in the Setup Wizard, selecting Install Now in the final window. Click Finish when complete.
      • Repeat the Libronix installation.

If after those steps are complete, let me know by replying to this post and I will look into this more for you.

    Deborah,

I did all of these and retried the install a couple of times but still received the same 1722 error. This is the error I received when I tried to do one of these things and failed

went to run, typed regsvr32 msxml4.dll and received this error: the module "msxml4.dll" failed to load. Make sure the binary is stored at the specified path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or dependent .DLL files. The specified module could not be found.

Now what? I am the administrator by the way...I checked and actually have never had this problem before. I have had my software here installed before, but when I tried recently to install the Geisler software too, it then stopped working altogether. Not sure if that has anything to do with it, but none work now, so I guess not.

    Ray,

In doing some more research into this, when you saw the cmd window, did you right click on that and select "Run as Administrator"? If not, that will need to be selected. However, if you did right click on cmd and choose run as admin and are still getting that same error, are you running a 64-bit system? If so, then regsvr32  "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\msxml4.dll" will need to be entered in the cmd window. Once that has path has been added, you should be able to open Libronix.

Let me know if you need any further assistance.

    Deborah,

Did that already and the same error as before popped up about the binary and such. I have also ran a full disk clean-up per Microsoft and that is still not fixing it. I'm wondering if the registry has these errors or has an error from the previous install in it. Is there a way to fix registry errors in my 64-bit system to see if that helps? I don't really know what else to do. My Dell laptop came preinstalled with Vista, which is filled with problems like this and that's why I can't stand it, but thusly I can't reinstall and just blow away previous stuff and start over. Help again please!
