Is this repeatable?
Are there any installation logs at all?
Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

Yes; none mentioned in the error box. Where would the installation logs be?

Benjamin,
If they exist they are likely in something like "my documents/Logos/Logos Logs" (Sorry I'm not at a Windows desktop and can't check the exact name.
You can read more about actively enabling logging here: https://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging

It looks like the "Background Intelligent Transfer Service" in Windows is either disabled or broken. Logos 5 and 6 require this service to download files.
The "fix it" tool in this KB article may repair the missing components: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058

It works perfectly for me too! Thanks!

Sometimes this is caused by a metered connection (wifi or cellular).
To solve, see https://support.logos.com/hc/en-us/articles/360008567331 and choose "Less Common Solutions".
Disable Metered Downloading
Confirm that the connection to the internet is not metered within Windows.
- Select Start > Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Manage known networks.
- Select your Wi-Fi network > Properties
- Under Metered connection toggle Set as metered connection to Off.

Turning off metered connection got me past the "unable to download a required file" error. Thanks!
