Does this mean that no work has begun on production of this product even though all who purchased L6 Std base pkgs of Platinum and above paid for the set several months ago?

I don't think this has been the case with resources in a similar position. I thought that Logos shipped it when it was ready to those who bought it in the base package, and also sold it to those who had CP bids in at the prevailing price. I can't point to a specific example, but think that's what happened. However, I've been wrong before...

Although I've got a bid on it, I'm not surprised many haven't bid. Maybe they got the L6 package.

I read older issues of BAR from the 1980s. I have to read with the assumption a sizable portion of it is no longer true. The older dictionaries and commentaries have the same risks; mainly I'd assume theological discussions may still be good (since they'd be historical-Jesus-free).

I bid a long time ago. My bid won and was so happy! Then *POOF* it was gone. Undaunted, I bid again, full bore. But today I see the bidding curve is as gray and unattainable as the foggy day outside.

Who cares if its outdated. If it was good enough for our fathers, it's good enough for us. Besides, as Denise says, it would be HJ-Free, There were still quite a few ferhoodled ideas that hadn't been thought of yet, which would be make a refreshing reading environment.

That has happened before, at least when it has gone already from CP to pre-pub. Dictionary of Greek and Roman Biography and Mythology (3 vols.) is one such case. It was in CP for a while (I can't remember what price it was at when it went over the top and into pre-pub). It is still listed in pre-pub as "under development" but it is included in base packages Diamond and above, and I have it already.

Maybe it's different if the CP 100% mark hasn't been reached yet. I can't think of a specific counter-example there.

It seems strange that no progress is being shown for a product that was sold to those who paid for the 4 largest base pkgs several months ago. I'm sure that the decision to include the set was made well before the L6 release date.

I was thinking that we probably wouldn't see any changes on the L6-bundled CP products until the L6 introductory period is over on February 3 (when the L6 app can be downloaded).

I'm pondering bidding on Hastings. Could anybody that has bid on it say why they think it's a particularly good resource? I've plenty of other more modern dictionaries, and am a bit way of buying older works because the scholarship can be dated...

Oh Rayner. Goodness, we've been pushing Hastings for just short of eternity (hebrew for 'a really long time'). I can't imagine how many screen shots we have pulled to show how useful it is.

One thing many don't know, is that back in 'those days', it was encyclopedias / dictionaries where the top scholars did much of their 'leading-edge' arguments, etc. Today, it's more to be found in journals, etc. And so, I think this week if I'm not mistaken, one of my books on molek was referencing some work in Hastings. I sighed.

You REALLY are not going to be wasting your money, and even if Denise is wrong (yet again), 30 days is plenty of time. Hastings 'Apostolic Church' is also very good.

Brother Bruce, as would I. One cause for optimism is the focused response of brother Phil Gons to the Journals Pre-Pub question here https://community.logos.com/forums/t/100310.aspx

Perhaps the reference in his first point was to more than just journals. Hastings may be one of the base package resources of which he speaks.

Also, when I looked back to the a couple of paid Logos 5-era base package resources that are still in CP, I received a pleasant surprise. I had long assumed that at least two items from (I think) L5 Reformed Platinum: https://www.logos.com/product/32896/classic-studies-on-john-knox and https://www.logos.com/product/32811/classic-studies-on-scottish-church-history

were merely languishing there, when in fact they were in my library! [:$] This seems to also be the case with all of the current "Pre-Pub/ Ships 2/xx" items. Interesting.

Side note: These Logos resources are wonderful tools and a remarkable system of study, but a thought strikes me that someone else may relate to: only with digital resources is it possible to have access to 26 volumes about the Scottish Church and Reformation and not realize it! Made me realize that like a librarian, I need to carefully examine and know the whole library in an ongoing way to maximize its value. Of course, the beauty of the system is that a broad/ "everything" search can access all assets, even the items we have forgotten we own. [I]
