BUG: "New Note" button created a note unattached to the selected notebook and with no option to anch
Using the “New note” button with my “Expository Sermon Preparation | 1 John 1:1-4” Notebook selected, I created a note that had two Problems:
- Note not attached to ANY notebook, let alone the one selected.
- No Anchor function available on this note.
By the way, I seem to have a lot of notes not created by the New note button that are missing the Anchor option.
P.S.
Toggling the "Show full anchor text" in the note menu does not make a difference.

Hey Tim,
In the screenshot above you do not have a notebook selected. If you have a notebook selected it will show it in the filter display above. See my screenshot.
As far as the anchor text, the option will not show if there is not text already anchored to the note. You have to add an anchor before anything is displayed.
To do this, click the dot menu on the Notes Tool and select "Add Anchor"

I don't have a notebook selected is because it is not in a notebook. I had to show all notes to display the note in question.
Since the note is not associated with any notebook, selecting a notebook will not make the note available in the filter. You can only find it if you have no notebook selected and type part of the note text in the search box
My understanding is that when you have a notebook selected, and you create a new note, it is supposed to be associated with that notebook. In this case that did not happen.
As far as the anchor text, the option will not show if there is not text already anchored to the note. You have to add an anchor before anything is displayed.
I was expecting to see the empty anchor section because in previous iterations a while back I saw the anchor section was open even if the note was not anchored to anything, and had the add anchor button there. I already found the add anchor option in the note menu, but didn't put 2 and 2 together to understand the behavior I reported on the hidden anchor section. I do like the empty anchor section hidden better - just wasn't expecting it.
Your understanding of what should happen is correct.
Do you consistently see notes not being added to a notebook when a notebook is selected?
I have seen it several times, but I would (now) classify this as intermittent (every developer's nightmare) because it doesn't do it all the time. I have not yet noticed the consistent condition in which it occurs. I'll keep watching and hoping someone else can also add to this conversation.
Tim, is it possible that you're "selecting" the notebook from the Filter facets sometimes and from the Notebook tab other times (there won't be a way to visually distinguish this in the breadcrumbs bar)? If you are selecting the notebook via the facet this won't affect new notes getting added to it (not sure if this is by design or a bug).

I am having a similar problem to Tim.
Tim, can you copy and paste into your notebook from a logos book.
Graham
Now, Control V is working. It would not work before.
It is copying and pasting inside the desktop notes.
However, the right click paste isn't working for some reason in Logos, but it works in Microsoft word.
There's something very strange going on with the notes. They just seem buggy to me.
I am currently finding myself missing the old note system.
It just took me 2 hours to get something done that should have taken 30 seconds.
Thank you Graham for your help in this matter. Your an MVP in my book.
When I right click I am also missing the add note to feature.
I like using this feature because it allows me to instantly get to the spot where the note was taken.
I would like to see:
Add not to: Notebook XYZ for example. This option also allows you to create an instant link back to your source.

I am having the same problem.
