I see you are running 10.14.0. A number of problems have been reported recently with using Logos on that version and upgrading to 10.14.1 has resolved them.
They were different problems to those you are reporting but may be worth doing anyway and seeing if it helps
I tried walking through steps both for the app store and for the software version it states that my version of Logos is up todate... not sure what to do now.

Matthew, 10.14 (Mojave) is the version of the Mac OS. Users have reported problems with Logos and Mac OS 10.14.0 that seem to be fixed in 10.14.1

I just tried it on 10.14.1 and it worked.
Use System Preferences -> Software Update. You can also upgrade via the App Store, but Software Update is easier and less time-consuming.
