After upgrading to Logos 8, all personal books are locked.
Some books have no file and some books show this.

No. This is a different notebook.

That explains it, you need to add then to the new notebook.
Three options for doing this:
1) Upload (from the PB tool) on the original computer
2) Compile the source file on the new next notebook
3) Identify the compiled PB on the old computer, copy it across and SCAN it in
I‘m not at my computer so can’t provide screenshots at the moment

Graham explained what you need to do, but for clarification: Personal books don't automatically sync... only the "metadata" (author, title, etc.) does. When you try to open a book which has not been "uploaded" (or manually imported) you will receive the warning you did.
