SUGGESTION for workflow: Basic Bible Study should open the passage

This "most definitely not a power" user wonders why the "Basic Bible Study" workflow would not automatically open the passage (in any Bible). I realize there's probably some additional programming to respond to the citation the user types, but that seems like such a basic concept for this workflow. As it stands, I must follow a multi-step process, AFTER opening the workflow, to also have the passage displayed in Logos.

I do recall a post that I need to save my "layout" when in-process to come back to it. Now to figure out how to do that...

(As an aside, the forums are several stages beyond "huge" - and very difficult to search. I had to manually "find" the word "workflow" in 36 pages of forum posts to try to see if this suggestion had already been made. Tedious and time-consuming!)

I'm not sure I understand what behavior you're expecting, or would like to see, but let me see if I can help answer some questions.

First Workflow documents are intended to be a companion tool for bible study. The idea behind them is to provide a structured process for studying any passage. There are a number of different types of workflows, but you may or may not have access to those based on the package you own and the feature sets you have access to.

Once you have created a workflow document for a particular passage, that will be saved in the Started Workflows section of the Guides tab. Once you enter a note in the workflow document, a notebook for that workflow will be created (automatically) in the Notes tool.

Layouts are a great way to save the open resources, resources, guides, and tools you have open for a particular study, so that you can return to that study later on. Creating a layout is very simple. This video is a better visual than me explaining it.

Searching the forums can be difficult, and there have been discussions, suggestions, and complaints about that. I find the easiest way to search them is to use the Google, restricting the search to the Forums site.

Thank you for the reply and for the suggestions. I'll have to try the google thing for searching the forum, and check out the video you mentioned. I appreciate your pointing out that my suggestion needs clarification.

I have 15 workflows with my version of Logos 8, and have so far only tried one: "Basic Bible Study."

My preferred behavior would be for the specific workflow "Basic Bible Study" to open the passage entered for the workflow in some Bible, ideally my "preferred" Bible (presuming that selection has survived the transition from Logos 7 to Logos 8). This behavior would clearly not be appropriate for some of the workflows, such as "Biblical Person Study," but it might also be helpful for any that inherently focus on a specific passage. Since I haven't tried others, I'm not in a good position to offer specific suggestions.

When I start a new instance of the Basic Bible Study workflow, the very first step is "Read Your Passage", which displays the text in your preferred Bible. There's a little button beside the text that will open your preferred Bible to that section so that you can read the text in context or add highlighting and notes. Is this not what you are seeing? Or are you looking for something different?

Thank you. I'll have to look for that the next time I start a passage; I don't recall right off what that step looked like. What I'm looking for would involve opening a standard Bible "pane" (window?).
