Logos training

I am very disappointed with the lack of training videos Logos for users. Logos is an expensive program and if I want to really learn how to use the program Logos offers paid training. I think Logos should offer better training so that we can use all the features of Logos. Here is a chat with a Logos representative about this issue:

8.4.0.0047, a rather expensive package.

Ed:I enjoy Logos a lot. However, I have a common problem with Logos and that is not knowing exactly how to get complete use out of it. I know I can Google search and Youtube search for user made videos as well as some Logos made videos, but most are 3-5 minuets long.

Ed:Yes, I am familiar with that tech page. Those articles and videos are not too helpful. They simply help me get started but not advanced.

Ed:For example, I received an email this morning about training for proper searching within Logos. Once I opened the email I found out it is indeed training but paid training. I don't know how to use the advanced search feature in Logos after several years of ownership and in order to learn how to use it I have to pay for it. Do you understand my frustration?

Ed:This is the main reason why I have not even attempted to recommend Logos to my colleagues because I feel that Logos convinces users to invest $1000.00's for the base package and then bait dangles us with paid training to learn how to use the program.

Todd:They are helpful in learning how to use Logos better.

There are also videos within Logos that aim to help you study the Bible and familiarise yourself with the software. Look for DIY Bible Study in the Courses Tool. If you don't already have it, you can also get LT271: Study the Bible with Logos: Jonah 1 for free.

You will also find QuickStart for Logos 8 in your library, which has a couple of dozen short training videos.

Although these videos are short, they are pretty comprehensive. If you're struggling with any feature not covered there, just ask and we can help you. You said in your message to support that you're looking for more advanced videos. Let us know what features you're interested in, or (even better) what you're trying to accomplish, and I'm sure we can point you in the right direction.

I can see the frustration. My suggestion would be for Faithlife to include training into base package. Basis training to basic packages, and advanced training maybe from Gold and up, and very advanced with complicated search and etc. to the most expensive ones.

Honestly they put out more training already than MOST software companies.

I actually think they've done a great job organizing the new Training page: https://support.logos.com/hc/en-us/categories/360000675231. It's so much simpler and easier to find what you're looking for, it's searchable. This link is pretty much your starting point to get you to other links people have included. I actually like the step-by-step pages with pictures, quick and easy. And each page has links to other related pages that might be relevant to what you're searching for.
