Many of the changes to the Library in Logos 8 are great. However, one of the least friendly functions is when browsing books from Library Filter Panel, all the resources are organized by number of books, instead of alphabetically.
For instance, if I want to browse for books written by D. A. Carson, I expand Authors and have to read each line sequentially until I find his name. I don't naturally know who in my collection has written the most books. If I enter "title:systematic", then all the authors change order, again based on how many books the author has written with the title "systematic". I suppose I could just search "author:carson", but then what is the point of the library browser?
The same problem exists with Series, Collections, Publisher, etc. Organizing Authors (or other filters) by book count is really no better than organizing the Authors randomly. I often find myself scanning the short list, then find myself selecting more several times, then realizing I must have went too far, and start reading through the list again.
I think including the book count is good, but many of the filter fields should be sorted alphabetically. Thanks.
