How do I get daily devotionals to open to the current date?

I've set up a layout for daily devotionals with a couple of panes that each have a few tabs for various daily devotionals (For the Love of God, My Utmost... etc.) but they don't automatically open to the current date when I start Logos. Is there a trick to getting this to work?
Have a great day,

I regularly look at Spurgeon's Morning and Evening, and it always opens to the current date - it even gives me the morning or evening reading depending on what time of day I click to open it.

If you've set up a layout, it saves the date you saved the layout with.
If you open the devotional through the library , or command box, or with a button shortcut on your toolbar it opens to today's date.

I don't think it's an oversight or a bug Jim. Layouts are supposed to be a snapshot of where you were working at a precise moment in time.
Imagine I'm writing a sermon on a passage which is used in a devotional, and I wanted to use that quote. I save my layout and come back the next day and have to search all over again for my quote?
No, the layout is doing what it should - saving the work where it was when you saved it.

What I did was put Morning and Evening on my short-cut bar. It opens to the correct date and morning or evening every time.

This sort of works. If I drag it from the library to the short-cut bar it works as you have said. But if I drag the tab from an an open pane, then the short-cut is to a specific date.
I suggest that daily devotionals have a special setting on the "link" configuration. Just like you can link a resource to a lettered set, A, B, etc. or "FOLLOW" they could be linked to "DATE" which would make them follow the current date. If there is no link, then when a layout with a daily devotional is invoked, the resources would go to the date of the layout, or they can go to the current date.
