Which BHS (Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia) do I use?

I know I need the Biblia Hebraica Quinta for the most up to date scholarship, but just to stick to the BHS, I am wondering which Logos resource I should use. I have 2 BHSes in my library, namely: 

  1. Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia: With Werkgroep Informatica, Vrije Universiteit Morphology; (Logos Bible Software, 2006). with 
    Hebrew Text : Copyright 1990 Deutsche Bibelgesellschaft Stuttgart
    Morphology : Copyright 2006 Werkgroep Informatica, Vrije Universiteit



  2. Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia: SESB Version., electronic ed. (Stuttgart: German Bible Society, 2003). 5th corrected edition, prepared by A. Schenker 1997

Which text, if there are any differences at all, is most up to date?

    BHW (2013) is newer than BHS:WIVU & BHS:SESB => Biblia Hebraica Westmonasteriensis with Westminster Hebrew Morphology 4.18 (BHW)

    Personal preference is Lexham Hebrew Bible with Morphology (LHB) that can be used in Clause Search (and Logos Hebrew Morphology is used in Reverse Interlinear Bibles)

    KJ4J pointed you to different alternative texts, but regarding those two: The text itself is probably pretty much the same, but the morphology slightly differs. The BHS/WIVU (your no 1) will work with the WIVU constituency trees (something alike to Cascadia/OpentText syntax analysis graphs for Hebrew). The BHS SESB will have the Qere/Ketiv readings flagged, which you can choose in a visual filter. Please make sure the BHS SESB is LLS:1.0.204, last updated October 2019, since there's a deprecated version which shares the same title you cited but is deprecated.

    Thank you for the advice and the many links. Checking them out. Would you say the BHW is much different from the BHS? My university uses the BHS so I wonder if they would mind if I used the BHW in my exegesis paper.

    Thanks for explaining the differences, NB.Mick. I see the point in having these different versions now.
