Seems to me though that if they did give advanced warning, they might find people saved up for a bigger purchase, so I can’t say I understand their logic.
While FL (Bob) might recognize that some ahead-of-time alert could help customers prepare, I think he's on record as saying that verbalized plans produce expectations that have a propensity to haunt and hamper the process...in other words, it's just not worth it. As much as I would like to know in advance (I'm never prepared to make a move when a new release drops), I fully understand his thinking. People (customers) are never so petulant as when they feel they have been promised something, regardless of how much the word "tentative" may be pounded into the ground.
