After waiting patiently after the Master Journal Bundle 2.1+ came out - not a lot has happened.
Where was the frequent release programme we were expecting.
Shalom
If the journals obtained through Faithlife are better tagged and better functionality than those obtained through Galaxy, wouldn't it make sense to get the Master Journal first and then Galaxy's?
There are not going to be two copies of the resources. It will make no difference what order you buy them in.
If you want all the journals, you need to pre-order both: Galaxie Theological Journal Library 1-22
If you want all the journals, you need to pre-order both:
Galaxie Theological Journal Library 1-22
Thanks Nathan. I didn't realize this and just place my order for Galaxie. I incorrectly assumed that the Master Bundle incorporated both.

I do not know how Nathan knew but I am thankful for his explanation. I would like to write more, but I am working hard to restrain myself.
This is correct. There's only going to be one copy of the journals, whether they're first obtained through the Galaxie bundle or the Master Journal Bundle.
I'm not sure about this, but it's possible that Faithlife ships them in the Galaxie Bundle first to get them in the library, then goes back and adds additional tagging to them by the time the Master Bundle ships (in which you'd receive a free update to those journals). Phil or someone from Faithlife would have to clarify how that process works though.
The bottom line is, you can pre-order both bundles at once, regardless of shipping order, and you'll never pay twice for the overlapping journals and receive the same files regardless.
Glad to assist. A while back, Phil mentioned there was a difference between the Galaxie bundles and their own bundles. I also compared the lists to see the differences.
I finally sorted through everything to understand the difference, and I decided to post it here so it's clearer to understand so Logos customers know which bundles they want/need to get the journals they want/need.
I was also in the same boat. I thought I was set to get all journals in the Master Bundle as well, so I was glad to see Nathan's post. Thanks Nathan!
Faithlife
Thank you for the Galaxie Vol 1-22 set
I think one thing to keep in mind with Having Journals from two sources (Faithlife & Galaxy) is that Faithlife has obtained rights to some journals that Galaxy also has the rights to. Because of the high cost of journal tagging, and the large number of journals from Galaxy that needed to be updated, it made the cost to high. So they elected to do without updating the tagging, so we could at least get the journals into Logos format.
Where Faithlife's rights to journals overlap Galaxies, those journals will have all the expected tagging, regardless of who we but them from.
Hopefully we will get all the Galaxie titles fully updated.
Why is Ex Auditu no longer available?
Any chance of getting it online electronically otherwise?
How about this journal?

I just bought the galaxie journals on sale, from the competition, for $99.90 and it includes a bunch of journals including Bibliotheca Sacra! What a great deal! They will have new ones coming out soon too! Journals are great but I always found them kind of expensive in Logos, but now, I get to have them at a fraction of the price without a subscription. How awesome is that?!!! 👍😁👌
DAL
Here’s the list of everything I got now. Those are a lot of journals for the price!
The following modules and groups are included when you purchase this package. For details click the Title.
And now 5.1 packages are ready - thanks Faithlife
My other volumes should come sometime soon in my other software 👍😁👌
Anyone know when the Galaxie bundle will be updated?
Are there any plans to update Journal of Biblical Literature?
Yaahoo! 5.3 isn't lost in WS/L9
And what a deal: journals you actually want, for 10 cents on the dollar. How do they make money, when they're giving it away?
Are we still looking at October for the Galaxie update? Did WS slow that process?
I confused dollars and copies. Getting too old for communicating thoughts. I waiting to see how much my price will drop on Galaxie after Master ships.
Mine is less than 9 cents a copy, $0.08985721 to be more exact.
Tried counting but then got mixed up between volumes and years. Journals seem to be the Logos search's dream come true.
Ok, back to Galexie .. I suspect the answer will not turn out well.

Im not seeing any deals.

Don’t you just hate it when people talk about a deal, but the don’t share the link where the deal is found? 😂😒😂
Apologies to you ... I was referring to the periodic journal packages. They're about to ship 5.3. If you've been purchasing all along, the dynamic price is quite attractive (the 'deal'). For me, $46. If not, the packages can be daunting:

These should be released today. last chance for pre-pub pricing Master Journal Bundle 5.3 - https://www.logos.com/product/194708/master-journal-bundle-53Academic Journal Bundle 5.3 - https://www.logos.com/product/194709/academic-journal-bundle-53Theological Journal Bundle 5.3 - https://www.logos.com/product/194710/theology-journal-bundle-53
When can we sign up for 5.4?
You are as keen as I am !!!
We would normally post the next master journal bundle, 5.4, today. We have some housekeeping to get in order before we're ready to post and it might be a couple of weeks. That said, the delay in posting should not affect producing and shipping. We're still aiming to ship 5.4 by the end of the year. Thanks for your interest and your patience. I'll be sure to post in this thread when 5.4 is available to pre-order.
Thanks for the update Thom!

Thank you for getting journals on a consistent release schedule. For me, this was a big frustration I had with Logos which has now been remedied! Now, if you could get the rest of the JBL volumes and BAR back into Logos, I would be next level satisfied! Just kidding...I'll never be satisfied. [;)]
Any updates on Galaxie bundle?
Thanks for this question. We're looking to post the next installment of Galaxie's TJL for pre-order next week sometime and plan to ship it next month.
When it comes to journals both are true: Logos has "muddled" (an understatement that probably will never meet a match) the effort. There has been infrequent, often reactionary communication about the status and future of the journals. I feel as though promised journals and updates have not happened (this could probably be substantiated as fact, but I am unable to do so at this time). So yes, I have looked to other places to fulfill my need for these journals. Furthermore, I can get them in a much more timely manner than Logos has published them. Even more, for $50 a year I get all the access to virtually all that I want. For the serious Bible student, I don't see how one can be up to date without them. I agree with everything you have noted and sadly must conclude I have already essentially done as you have done and moved on by choosing to avoid journals all together. Would you please share your present provider with me it sounds like a great deal. You can reach me at arwenttataoldotcom. Thanks

At the moment I have all available journals in logos, but there are gaps even in those journal offerings. While I am happy to get more and see this become a priority again in Logos, I stopped expecting that would happen a while ago. Too much time has gone by.
I suggested this elsewhere, but in case it didn't get picked up and passed along, please encourage Bob to buy Galaxie. That move will allow for a full integration of their titles in the linking process and be an avenue for FL to potentially acquire even more journals they do not already have access to. Easy peasy.
Some new journals for you all, up for preorder now: https://www.logos.com/product/197999/galaxies-theological-journal-library-vols-1-23
Thx!!!
Thanks for this update.
Will these new journals be part of the next master journal offering or do you have to order both to get all of the journals?
Thank you for the question, Bruce.I was wondering the same thing.
At the bottom of the product page it states: *These journals can also be found in the Master Journal Bundle 5.3.
I believe they have been included in the past as well

Note that this only includes those journals marked with an *. According to my count, there are 21 that do not have an *.

Good call! I guess I don't know then

Bump to ask for clarification.

You'll need both. There's substantial overlap, but they also both off unique content.
Thanks for clarifying Phil. For simplicity sake it would be nice if the "Master" bundle would actually contain all of the journals offered by Faithlife but I'm guessing that there are copyright challenges associated with this.
Or if not - there sould be a caveat text in the offer page that indicates when it doesn't include a potential "component" set - like in this case the Galaxy set.
And thanks again for the much more timely and professional provision of journals recently - thanks!
We could always call it the "almost" master set. The nearly full master set. the mostly master set... or maybe call it "master in name only". lolThe nearly complete, except these 23 collections of journals "master" set. just doesn't have the same ring to it . The master of incompleteness journal collection?
Thanks for your patience. The final Master Journal Bundle for the year, MJB 5.4, is now available to pre-order: https://www.logos.com/product/198255/master-journal-bundle-54
Thanks Thom - order placed.
Thanks. I very much appreciate these regular updates. Order placed! This one only cost me $6.71. [Y]

Yes, for $73.85 worth of journals.
