Upgrading MacOS problems

I have not had enough space on my hard drive in order to update my Mac OS to Big Sur (Mac OS11).

The reason: I discovered (unbeknownst to me) that my entire Logos library is on my hard drive, all found in an unidentified folder.

It's around 27 GB worth of data.

I thought that with Logos 8, all of my library was cloud-based.

I'm asking for some help in identifying what options I have in order to either move my Logos library to cloud-based (if I was correct in my understanding that Logos 8 is in fact cloud-based), or what I need to do to be able to free up enough space to upgrade my Mac OS.

I thought that with Logos 8, all of my library was cloud-based.

There is the option to move some (most) resources into the cloud but that will impact functionality.

Searches, for example, will show two separate sections - one for local resources, one for cloud resources

Collections only take into account local resources.

So there are some tradeoffs but it is possible.

To move resources from your local device to the cloud:

open the Library
select the ones you want to upload
ensure the Information pane is open
Click the arrow to the right of Downloaded and select the option to remove them from your device

The 'unidentified folder' should be at the end of a path very similar to this...

If it is somewhere else it is unlikely to be being used by Logos and you should check if it is a duplicate of the folder that Logos is actually using.

Logos wiki => Quick Installation onto Multiple Macs has list of Application Support folders (with 20/20 hindsight that Logos4 folder used by Logos 4 on Mac would continue to be used by newer Logos versions).
