Kindle and library.logos.com

Anybody use this method of reading your books? Any comments on it? Does it work well? Any chance of (and any benefit to) getting a "kindle-optimized" version of the library.logos.com site? I've been back and forth for a while between getting a Kindle or an iPad. I plan to use it primarily for reading (as opposed to studying) so wouldn't really need all the iPhone/iPad app features. I'd also much prefer the e-ink display of the Kindle over the iPad screen. I just want to make sure that the reading experience is decent utilizing library.logos.com from a Kindle.

I would not want to use library.logos.com too much from the Kindle advanced browser. Not ideal. I have both an iPad and a Kindle and if I had to choose just one, I would get the iPad hands down. Unless money is a consideration, get an iPad. Much more versatile and the iPhone/iPad app is very good. Plus you can download the Kindle app and iBooks to read on the iPad.

To summarize: library.logos.com on the Kindle is not very good.

If you give me a little time I will post a picture of what it looks like on the Kindle.

Hi Kevin, sure I'd like to see the picture whenever you get a chance. So the screen of the Kindle doesn't trump everything else, even considering that by far my primary purpose would be reading the books in my Logos library? If it makes any difference, I'm currently getting by using a (relatively old) BlackBerry with library.logos.com to do my reading. Far from ideal, but it does the job for now. I was primarily looking for something to do the same job with a better reading experience. Not that I WOULDN'T utilize the iPad for various other tasks if I had one, but that wouldn't be my primary purpose for buying one.

It used to not work at all. I'm glad you asked the question because I went and checked. Works great! I'll be using it from now on for longer reading. Even the reading plan works well.

Very cool! Logos now works on the Kindle.

I would be interested in some of your more detailed analysis.

I have a Kindle now, plus an iPhone. For that reason, I have wondered whether the iPad would be duplicative. The color is not so important to me, but if there are other features, it may be convincing.

For example, I love using my finger to highlight on the iPhone. So easy. But when I cross pages, the iPhone process seems more klutzy. Kindle is simple, in that you click once on the page you begin from and then page forward to where the final end of your quote is and click the mouse thingie again. (as you well know)

So when you get a chance, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks for taking the time to do that Kevin. I can see that navigation is definitely cumbersome. Is navigation within a book just as cumbersome as navigation between books? Do you think it would be a better experience if Logos had a "kindle optimized" version of library.logos.com? Not necessarily a full-blown "app", just an optimized site (say kindle.logos.com)

EDIT - Of course, even better would be for them to allow us to download books directly from our library into the Kindle, but I don't know what legal hurdles would be involved with that.

Yes. I didn't take time to show that as my wife wanted the Kindle back. But it is just as cumbersome. I have only tried it. I won't be using it at all. Of course I have only tried the Kindle browser. The problem is with Kindle not the web site. All web sites are cumbersome on the browser.
