Tip: Save Shortcuts Space with Folders and Unicode Icons

I recently swapped out my Shortcut folder names and abbreviations for icons to save space and thought I'd share the idea.

Here are some Unicode characters that may be useful:

📗 = quick reference

📖 = reading

📚 = wishlist

🔍 = scaling/zoom (or searches)

⊞ = layouts

⚙️ = settings

Great tip Phil - a much appreciated workaround! Many thanks for the idea.

It still would, however, be great to provide icons (and allow users to upload their own ico files) to allow ultimate customization (now that you see the need for this!)

I had that in UserVoice for years (it was a top-ten vote-getter). I'm not sure if I moved it to whatever the new wishware is...kinda gave up on that. But it should be there.

New Feedback does not have a limit of votes per user:

16 Votes => Option for icon only shortcut folders

13 Votes => Toolbar: More meaningful icons

10 Votes => More icons in the icon library

Sorting Logos Desktop App feedback by most votes (not done) shows new Top 10 has 42 or more votes.

Caveat: new feedback website needs a separate login so please vote => Add the feedback website to the Faithlife SSO system that has 15 votes.
