Home Page: Pre-Order vs Pre-Pub

I am hoping for a clarification please. On the Home page settings wheel there are separate check boxes for Pre-Order and Pre-Pub. I'm not sure that i understand the difference other than that Pre-order shows me WAY more things and kind of overwhelms the home page. Can someone explain the distinction for me?

Pre-Order means Faithlife will produce the resource.

Pre-Pub means Faithlife will produce the resource if enough people order it (or if they decide to do so for some other reason, like putting it in a base package library).
