Why are TDOT vol/page references not hyperlinked?

I have been disappointed to discover that commentary references to the TDOT (Theological Dictionary of the Old Testament) are not fully hyperlinked. TDOT (the resource) is hyperlinked, and I can click on it and open the resource. However, the vol/page number reference is not hyperlinked. Any reason why Logos did not fully enable the cross-referencing for this particular resource?

I don't quite understand what you are communicating. Are you talking about links in other resources TO this resource or links WITHIN this resource? A screenshot might help.

Because FL is comfortable not fulfilling its marketing slogan about hyperlinked connectivity of library resources. The Word Commentary was added to Logos years before TDOT was, and so there was no way to link TDOT references to an actual product when the links were being created. Well over a decade ago, I suggested that FL go ahead and create dead links for all citated reference works, even if the link was for products not included in their catalog at the time the links were being created. That way, the once the resource was acquired, the preconstructed link would "resurrect" and become live automatically. Don't know if they implemented that or not, but even if they had, it wouldn't help for dead links that didn't have targets when products were produced.

Logos has said they were going to "fix" this issue, but over a decade on there are thousands...probably tens of thousands...of dead links in Logos products, some of them in products with extremely high traffic, such as Word Commentary. I don't know what the solution is...maybe a class action suit?? Sounds like a suggestion for FeedBear!

This looks like one more instance where crowdsourcing would help, but FL has always seemed to be opposed to that approach.

Thanks for the screenshot. For clarification: The issue isn't with TDOT, the issue (in your screenshot at least) is with WBC.

Not a defense, but two likely explanations: 1) the TDOT link may have been automated when they linked the abbreviations to resources in their catalog and 2) This resource (if I remember correctly) was originally produced by another group.

Here's another example that illustrates how frustrating (and inconsistent) this problem is. Note that, in the screenshot of these search results, some of the target page links to the TDNT are active and some are dead. Also note that this inconsistent linking occurs (seemingly randomly) within the same volume of commentary (in this case, the WBC for Ephesians).
