E-Ink Reader

For me it is ONYX BOOX E-readers. Because on this WiFi E-reader, Android is installed. So I can use the apps from different libraries and bookstores.
Including the Logos Mobile App, Kindle App, Kobo App, local library app, etc. Which means I am not stuck with just one provider, but can download also from different providers. Downloading is easy: direct in their apps, without loops and tricks.
At the moment I am using ONYX BOOX Poke 2: small but great convenience. Backlight, 32Gb. Using it for a year now and I am happy with it, for the goal I am using it: just reading.
Logos Mobile App is just working fine on this E-reader. When asked: I would recommend this one
In the meantime version Poke 3 is out, with Android 10.

I have the onyx boox poke 2. Its a very comfortable size and works very well with Logos 9. There is a poke 3 now which has newer android etc. Worth a look.

Just another 2 cents from me: if Logos ever got into the hardware market and worked with some unknown e-reader company to make a Logos E-Reader... i'd give them money in advance. Something like a Paperwhite (or even the cheaper basic Kindle) that allowed me to simply 1: open my Logos ebooks and 2: make simple highlights. If that is all it did, that would make me so happy.

Just out of curiosity: do the onyx boox models sync properly with the Logos desktop version, for example, is it possible to send resources from the desktop app to the mobile app?
I have the Likebook Mars (Android 8), and syncing stopped working maybe about a year ago. Even wiping the device didn't work.

Following...
Has anyone used the Boox models with the preaching mode? I assume there would be a typical lag in the page turning, but that wouldn't be too much of a concern.
Also, Boox just released a new model for $350...Amazon.com: BOOX Nova Air 7.8" Paper Tablet Android 10 Front Light 32GB 300dpi OTG USB-C ePaper E Ink Notepad : Electronics

How can Logos books be read on an e-reader?
"Your speech must always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person." - Colossians 4:6

On a Onyx Boox e-reader for instance you can download the app Logos Mobile for reading Logos resources. Works fine!
This e-reader has Google Play store installed, after activation you can download whatever app you want which is available in the play store.

Just out of curiosity: do the onyx boox models sync properly...
I do not use syncing between Logos desktop and Logos Mobile. So don't know.
But I do use syncing between my local Dutch library desktop app and the mobile version of it. Works fine. So, I presume it should work for Logos apps as well. Perhaps someone else who has actual experience can chime in ..

I decided to try the Boox Nova Air from Amazon, thinking the 7.8" screen v the 6" of the Poke3 and the ability to jot down the occasional note might be good. Also knowing that I could return it and get the Poke3, if I wanted. Received the Nova Air yesterday. I will skip my opinion on the size, note taking, etc and simply say that I can't get it to accept the google play store app. I have reset the device several times and have tried several different things all to no avail. I contacted Amazon because they have 90 day "Tech" support. They asked if I had reset the device, and that was the extent of the "tech" advice they were qualified to give. They are shipping me a replacement, in case there is something defective with the unit I have.
I'm a total Apple guy, don't like Android at all. Perhaps the Nova Air Knows This[:O]

It can take up to 24 hrs to activate the Google Play store and to link it to your Google account. In my case it took several hours of desperately waiting because I was unaware this could be the case. But it seems the normal way it goes.
Perhaps this helps:

Does the device show up properly here?
Account > Manage Devices | Logos Bible Software
In that case, syncing probably works fine.

You might want to check https://community.logos.com/forums/t/200358.aspx - possible solution by Ben Baille at end of thread which is encouraging although Paul has not mentioned if it solved his issue.

Worth mentioning that after 1 year my onyx boox poke 2 battery is useless. It is also very difficult to find a replacement battery and it is not user replaceable. I had to crack open the case and then the batter was glued in place. If I get a battery it will need to be acquired by a friend from china.

I got the Nova Air working. Initial thoughts after spending half the day playing with it, it is very slow turning pages—much slower than Apple or a Kindle. The screen can be customized for reading much better than a Kindle and obviously much better than an iPad. The pencil and screen are far superior for writing compared to an iPad. Although, I don’t really see myself taking the time to write on it with a pencil. The size is easy to hold two-handed and type with my thumbs. Overall it is a nice size for holding and reading. It is nice to be able to read every book that I own regardless of format. Technical support is impossible to get outside of LOGOS forums.

Really..the Poke 2 I am using for a year now, is still performing excellent on battery life. Several weeks on a charging. I only use wifi for downloading new content. I use this device for reading only.

I wonder if it was caused by the latest firmware update...

For those who have used the Boox Poke. Can you create a note with LOGOS?
0 -
Yes, I can create notes on Poke. It syncs as well.
0 -
Yes but certain highlighting styles aren't clearly visible. Underlining works well.

I've just learnt that Boox announced this very day that a Nova Air 2 will be available to pre-order later this month along with a couple of other updated models https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-M_Ge9s46E

Pleased to report it only took until today to get a replacement battery for £17. So about 3 months. I would have not doubt faired better if my mandarin skills were better... a friend managed to acquire it in the end. It is at least a significant upgrade in capacity.
