Rick, in studying ἄσοφος (hapax in Ephesians 5.15) I turned to your *very helpful* resource, Lexham Research Lexicon of the Greek New Testament (LXGNTLEX).
In the **Alternate Corpus References** there is a reference to "Herodotus: Hdt., Hist. 1.196.1." This passage speaks of σοφώτατος (lemma: σοφός), not ἄσοφος.
In doing a morph search in Herodotus's *The Histories*, I did not find any references tagged with the lemma ἄσοφος.
Am I missing something? If there is a reference to ἄσοφος in this work, I am interested in learning where the reference is. If not, then this may be an occurrence of this word that needs to be removed from this entry.
Thanks for this *very helpful* resource and for any help you can offer in resolving this issue. Take care and God bless!
