Can all Bibles please be $9.99 or less? Example: First Nations NT

Amazon currently has the First Nations NT on sale for $3.99 (Digital list price $19.99, although I think the previous price was $14.99). I got it on sale from a certain competitor for $9.90, (currently $19.90).

This is an NT-only translation with no reverse interlinear tagging. How does FL justify such a high price point ($29.99)???

Can FL please bring the price of this resource more in line with other bibles in the store?

I'm beginning to really like this translation and its Native style of storytelling, especially for the Gospels. It would be great to have it in Logos as a comparison text but I'm not paying $30 for an untagged NT-only Bible.

I suppose that's my upside-down thinking, since Bibles are supposed to be more valuable! I liked Stand on the Rock guy ... I'm afraid to see what'll happen at Creator Sets Free's trial.

I agree and thought the same thing. Yet the Bible in different translations should also be more accessible because the Bible is infinitely more valuable. Seriously, who charges $30 for the NT???

As a former cost accountant (and a Native American - born at Carraway Methodist Hospital in north Birmingham), I think the price differences in Logos between niche translations and the ESVs / NRSVs / NIVs are going to be related to volume. Note that the Kindle prices for those standard translations are significantly lower when the First Nations edition is not on sale.

Suspect that there is a lot of factors that contribute to the price. Not the least of which is the amount the publisher charges FL for the right to produce and distribute the ebook version.

EG its not entirely up to FL how much they charge. Sometimes they have to accept higher prices, to make a title available.

I too am a former cost accountant and financial analyst...which is why I don't like to overpay for things. lol

You're definitely right about the logic behind their pricing. I still don't want to pay $30 for any bible, much less a partial bible with no reverse interlinear tagging. Can they at least bring their price more in line with their closest competitor? At least bring it down by $10 and then put it on sale occasionally.

Wow. Who knew there were so many professionals (eg accountants, systems, etc) in Logosia.

After starting out on my latest NT, and bouncing around, my eye caught this quote this morning:

Some of this is in FL's control, but not all. The contracts on "research editions" is different than on the "eBooks" (FLEB) titles. The publisher agrees to allow FL to make alterations (i.e. formatting, tagging, etc.) and to sell the resource at a "value added" cost.

FWIW: the standard Amazon Kindle price is 15 for this resource.

This translation's treatment of names stands out. Some of them are more literal than others... this one being less literal and more of a theological interpretation in line with the publishing house's theology. Oh well. It's an interesting project.
