Did you know that if you buy overlapping products at logos.com, you'll get dynamic pricing?
It looks like this:
Just in case it ever comes in handy...

I'm sure it will one day fairly soon.

How does that compare with the step purchasing that you used to favor? Buying the highest discounted item first.
I don't know, to be honest, and I'm not sure it's possible to figure out.

I see no reason why it wouldn't be possible to figure it out.
AFAIK, the cheapest way to upgrade a number of packages is to calculate which ones have the best discounts and acquire them in that order. When, for example, the next three best discounts are all in different product lines, you can (now) combine them into one purchase without losing out.
I asked the development team this question.
In the example above, the three products will be dynamically adjusted using the same logic we're describing here. So if all you're buying is these three products, you should get the same total price you would if you worked out the percentages manually.
However, it's theoretically possible that you might be slightly better off if you bought Logos 9 Baptist Bronze, Logos 9 Baptist Silver, Logos 9 Bronze, Logos 9 Silver, etc. separately, and THEN did the multi-transaction described above.
I say "theoretically", because it depends how the base packages are configured, as you know. The people who put base packages together are aware of all this math that users sometimes do to secure the best deal and, where possible, will try to avoid that being necessary.
Hasn’t it done this for awhile? Or was that just a case of the shopping cart beta group you could join just now going live?
Yes, the original announcement I linked to in my post was 18 months ago. But most people rarely have a need for this feature, so it's easily forgotten.
I have appreciated it a lot since the last launch. With a lot of resources already, some of the new packages were 3-5$. Made it easier to add them all to my cart at once, than purchase 5-6 5$ packages individually.
I found it useful during the last 30% off sale. I'd see what was the best way to get discounts to expand my library.
It's really helpful when considering Legacy and/or current libraries.
