Why.. And more divergence in version 10

I hear you - I wish the features now on iPad were also on Android.

I'm led to understand that the Logos Android app may catch up at some point in the future. 

Being an iPad user, I had no idea this problem existed. I hope they fix it for you.

My biggest complaint is that to get the full feature upgrade I have to pay for tools that I cannot use on my Android device. If I cannot use these features I don't want them inflating the price of my package.

Not going to lie, I feel pretty sad that Android is so neglected.

Definitely agree with what everyone is saying on this topic. I was excited to see the ability to mark-up a page in the mobile app. After upgrading to 10, I was very upset to discover that this feature is only available on the iPad.

Logos, please update the Android version to at least match feature-set with the iPad.

They do have pretty good data as to what devices their apps are being downloaded and used on...

I was actively testing on both Android and the web app on ChromeOS. They want to get to feature parity and often said “that’s coming” but it’s slower than iOS development.  That’s disappointing for the minority of us who use Android. They know who butters their bread and it ain’t us.

We'd love to bring all features to all platforms. There are two main reasons why some features are only available on iPad:

1. The use Apple-exclusive technology (draw on screen is an example).
2. They rely on third-party libraries that don't fully support Android (Sermon Manager is an example)

There's not much we can do about the first category, but we do plan to investigate ways of solving the second problem.

We did bring interlinear view to Android in L10, which was iOS-exclusive for several years.

Thanks for your explanation. I've been using apps on Android for years, many of which allow for writing and drawing on the screen. Of course, the software libraries used on Android will not be the same as on the iPad, but it'd be great to reproduce the iPad functionality using Android libraries, etc. I spent my entire career in software development, so I'm fairly confident this can be done, the problem is often marketing priorities, time, money, etc.

As for having the interlinear view on Android, that's great! I've been looking for that for a long time now. Thanks!

Appreciate the engagement with customers Mark, I understand that iOS and Android have differences although I can't begin to imagine the level of complexities ('each monkey in his own branch' as we say in Portugal). Hoping that Sermon Manager would be brought soon as that feature would be very helpful on the move.

If its not a secret, which language, and development ide/tools are you using for the android branch of development? Maybe some of us who also code android apps even have functional code we could contribute to  assist in recovery or narrowing of parity

It's only available with certain books that provide interlinears such as The Lexham Hebrew-English Interlinear Bible.

1. Open The Lexham Hebrew-English Interlinear Bible
2. Click the kebab menu in the top right corner (three vertical dots)
3. Click "View Settings"
4. Scroll down to the bottom where you'll see "Interlinear Lines". It's the last one in the list.
5. Click on "Interlinear Lines" and there you can choose what you would like to see.

Adding to Ali, key words "interlinears".  Not reverse interlinears (iOS apps don't support, either).

The Android App is 10 years old and shares some code with the desktop app, so there are a LOT of different languages, frameworks and tools involved. The main issue for us is poor Android support for DraftJS.

Thanks for the clarification, I value the effort they have to make logos better every day. But I would like both operating systems, we have the same thing, I think it's just for the Android community.
